Dirk Nowitzki because he's the leader of the best team in the NBA today and he's healthy and playing consistent "team" basketball.

Dirk is having a great year but I don't believe team wins is a reflection of individual greatness... sometimes your just on a really good team. Nash should not have won MVP the past 2 years... if he deserves it any year it's this one but you can't give it to him 3 years in a row. Jordan didn't even do that with 3 titles in a row. Suns still have not even won the big one with Nash at the helm.

Kobe is the greatest player in the NBA period!! What one calls a ball hog another calls a man doing what is necessary to win again. The man is shooting 47% on the season and over 50% recently. i played college ball and if your shooting percentage is that high your doing your team an injustice if u don't shoot the ball. Other great shooters don't shoot that much only because they can't!! Can't keep up there energy nor have the other skills to consistently get open looks. Kobe should get MVP or he could soon end up the best player in history to never get the award. Oh by the way the ball hog does have 3 rings...

It will be a competition between Dirk and Kobe because throughout the year, he is a team player that helped the Mavericks get the best record in the NBA. Kobe is a fantastic player, but is now becoming a ball hog. There are other guys on his team that are there and to me, it looks like Kobe wants to show off and leave his teammates behind. Therefore, I vote for Dirk.

Dirk Nowitzki is the MVP hands down. The NBA better not screw this one up again. He should have won last year but he's the clear cut MVP this year. 25 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists a game all while shooting 50%, 40%, and 90% from the field, 3-point line, and free throw line. PLUS he makes his teammates better. Those are MVP numbers.

I would probably agree that Nowitzki deserves it, but would also say that he's not going to get it. He doesn't play very flashy ball, and only gets the attention he does because his numbers are impossible to ignore. More importantly, though, he's not going to get it because he's got the stigma of a choker - despite the San Antonio game - and whether or not you believe he choked last year in the finals, that's what many of the voters will likely think.
BUT, there is one thing going for him (besides the obvious): The Lakers are terrible, and Nash has already won it twice.

Dirk, because he is the best player on the best team, but make no mistake the Lakers would be in the lottery every year if they didn't have Kobe.

sure he did deserve, no longer purely did nash's numbers circulate up slightly from final season, yet so did lots of the Suns #'s besides and he did this lower back w/o Amarie.. Yeah Kobe, Dirk, LeBron all of them placed up sturdy indi numbers , yet what suitable to something of the group? Did they actually cause them to better and thats what you should seem at besides. Lebron to me could be the 2nd desearving of the award , yet Nash makes his group better. Its so obtrusive

To me it should be Nash because he continues to improve and he is just in his prime. He is the team leader. He passes scores and does so many unbelievable things. I don't doubt that he will be in 50 most greatest players.
