Michael Jordan is more complete. He has made numerous big shots, and could pull his team to fur more accomplishments then Kobe will ever be able to do. Jordan was a leader who could will exceptional performances form not only himself, but his teammates as well.

Both player played great defense, both players score the ball( Kobe being a better scoreer), both have won championships( Jordan has more), both were involved with outside the NBA issues that were not very flattering( Jordan and Kobe both cheated on their wives). Thisis hard cause I do believe that statisically they are both really close to each other. By percentage they are close for FG's, all star appearences, all defensive team nominations, and the fact that they both could not individually win championships. Jordan is a legend, Kobe is the best we have seen in a individual player since Jordan. I would have to say that If Jordan was a ten, then Kobe would be a eight. If Kobe could get three more rings, then i believe it would be safe to say that Kobe would be right there with Jordan. Remember that Jordan and Bryant had different games, but both of them are the most dominate games from a guard in there time. So to answer the question I believe that if L.A. can some consistant players together and can win a couple more championships, that is what it will take for Kobe to be on Jordans level, as far as individual accomplishments go, I think Kobe is already there ( KOBE GET A 10 FOR INDIVIDUAL BASKETBALL). One last thing, we must remember that Jordan was loved by everyone when he was playing and Kobe is hated by so many, yet Kobe still gets nominated to every all star game. I think the annomosity that Kobe goes thru day in and day out is so much harder than MJ and I do think that credit is deserved for that.

Well, in terms of overall skills, it's obviously between 9-10.
Kobe has the ability to score at will from anywhere on the court, he plays lock down defense, and can make almost any pass, even if he doesn't.
Since Shaq left, though, Kobe has been too timid sharing the ball and hasn't trusted his teamates, which is a skill that Jordan did have. Jordan was a team player, and that doesn't mean he just passed and stat padded his assists. That means that he shared the ball to help out his teamates and give them confidence in themselves so that Jordan would have confidence in them.
Of course, that doesn't mean I blame Kobe for not trusting his teamates. God knows, they might break an ankle just running with the ball the Lakers have been so injury prone the last few seasons.
So, on paper, in terms of overall statistics, I'd rate Kobe as an 8 out of 10, being as objectionable as possible. I'm not a Kobe Bryant fan, but I am a basketball fan and I try to be fair. Kobe has a higher career FG% than Jordan did, which is a telling stat in regards to scoring.

I agree that Jordan is the standard, so if Jordan is a 10, Kobe is an 9.
Kobe is a complete player, but maybe not a complete teammate.
Kobe wasn't even the best player on his team for many years, while Michael was, so it's hard to really compare the two of them. The question is if Kobe had been on the bulls in place of MIchael, would they have been as dominant. Probably not, but if Michael had been with Shaq on the lakers, it probably wouldn't have worked well either.

Kobe is equal to Jordan in skills because everything Jordan did Kobe can study and master. The thing that made Jordan special was his ability to add pieces to his game, so in that respect if Jordan is a 10 Kobe is a 7.5 because he isn't doing anything that was done before. Example. Jordan started posting up smaller guards 17 ft out. I never saw anyone do this before Jordan.

just for the record mr adam c, jordans career fg % is way above kobes, mjs career fg% is almost 50, while kobe has nt averaged this much even in a single season. his career fg % is a mere 45. do your research right and then speak. kobe is probably 7 but lets see if he can top jordan by the time he retires, which i personally dont think he can but v ll ve to wait and see

Kobe is a 7. He still is a little selfish and not as humble. He needs to be himself and not worry about trying to become the next Jordan.
