wow. ozzie made the tough plays in the field. but does any one remember chris sabo 21 hr a season average and .262 batting average? of course but the hal doesn't. ozzie's career batting average is also .262 but with only a 2 hr per season average. so does ozzie's defense out weigh sabo's homers?

kent hrbek 27 hr .282 career per season average
omar vizquel 5 hr .275 career per seaon average
jim thome 41 hr .282 career per season average
fred mcgriff 32 hr .284 career per season average
albert belle 41 hr .295 career per season average
matt williams 33 hr .262 career per season average
jim edmonds 33 hr .288 cereer per season average

who do you think makes the hal of fame and who doesn't?

now of course they played different amount of years and played different positions and there's a lot more stats to consider case to case. so take that into consideration. you'll remember who played(s) stellar defense as well. who do you think will make the hall? any?

Now I don't condone using steroids, but I don't think that it has contributed to every single home run that Bonds has hit since he supposedly starting using them.
Big Papi made the point that I have thought all along. The only area that it would've helped Bonds is to hit a 440 ft. home run instead of a 425 ft. home run. Other than that it doesn't help at all. You still have to get a good pitch put a good swing on the ball. How does steroids help with that? Steroids doesn't help improve your home run swing, it doesn't improve hand-eye coordination.
Like I said all it can improve is his bat speed so that he hits a 440 ft. shot instead of a 425 ft. shot.
I know a lot of you are going to say he's an ****** and a cheater. Then why is Sammy not getting bashed like Bonds? He supposedly used steroids and he was once caught with a corked bat. Now Sammy is a cheat, simply because he was caught cheating.
What do you think?

chuck carr only played 8 seasons despite having a season average of 46 steals per year. if a team has a guy that can flat out steal bases wouldn't it be valuable to pinch run more often? you get a guy on first via a walk or whatever with no outs and you steal second, sac to third and sac fly a run home. if you can manufacture runs without getting hits then you can really score some runs if by accident you do actually get a hit.

they're ussually better on defense (specially outfielders) as well. so wouldn't you think it be exciting and beneficial to see more managers have fast pinch runners coming off the bench? or do you think that managers that over manage are asking for trouble?

now i know you wouldn't pinch run for your best hitter in a tight game incase his spot comes around again. but is using guys that can steal bases off the bench and maybe uttility guys after that a good idea for a lot of teams with less then allstar everydays? why do you think it doesn't happen more?

He hasnt done anything great, i mean he's young and hit a home run in the all star game, but not deserving of the credit he is getting. Is it because he's in a high market team.

Examples: 20 something year old Robin Ventura charging the Mound and gettin whooped on by 40+ year old Nolan Ryan

Jose Canseco bouncing one of his head for a home run.

That guy who ran through the fence(still don't know how he didn't die) trying to catch a home run ball.

Stuff like that I wanna hear some funny stories.

He was taking steroids, and cheated his way into fame along with MVP's and Elite home run clubs.....But you must have some kind of talent to be able hit 700+ home runs. I mean, You cant take an average guy out of the minor leagues, juice him up on steroids, and watch him hit 700+ home runs in his career.
