Auto Racing - July 2006

First it was Montoya, now it is Danika Patrick wanting to try out Nascar. What is so great about Nascar that would bring F1 and IRL drivers over to Nascar? I love watching Nascar in person and on the TV. I am glad to see drivers from other series trying it out. What do the people of Yahoo Answers think? Let me and everyone else know.

She has succesfully raced in England. is one of the top rookies this year at the Nascar Nextel Cup. She has accomplished as much as Danica Patrick without having the massive the promotion that Patrick has received.

Ever noticed how certain drivers get into more trouble than others? If one driver (let's say Jeff Gordon) hit a guy, he would be fined and in huge trouble. But Kyle Busch has gotton away numerous times without any problems! Why's that???? And why has Tony Stewart gotton in more trouble than anyone when other drivers have also done "bad" things during races?

I think NASCAR is in the wrong not doing something to Jeff for doing that. If it was the other way around, you know they would have penalized Kenseth. Jeff needs his butt beat.

We have all heard enough about Gordon and Kenseth and who was wrong in that race, so please refrain from stating that again!

What I want to know is how do you feel about fans (technically non-fans) throwing things at Gordon?

I think these types of fans are what give Nascar fans a bad rep! This is why people see Nascar fans in whole as low life, drunk, hicks! I couldn't believe my eyes, that was so tacky! Sure have your dislike for the guy, or even hate him, but show some respect! They weren't hurting Gordon, they were hurting (well, littering) the track! What a disgrace!

What can they or should they do about this?

I think they should fine these people severely! Obviously you can't control them by banning them, they'd find another way back in, or that would be good punishment (take what they love)! I know I would be afraid to go to a race and Gordon win...geesh...grow up! I feel bad for the kids who saw that, what an example!

Well I guess her dad has kind of been looking into the idea. And also Danica didn't originally want to race in the IRL! So do you think she will move next year? And if she does will she succeed? According to her dad it's the 38 races a year that scares her! So yea Just wondering what you think about it!
