I believe in something greater, but I believe in the universe as my Diety. I think it allowed life to flourish but I don't think humans are any more significant than any other apart from through our achievements and advancement. I don't believe in the afterlife(Life alone is a big thing), or a Moral interviening God, I do however believe everything is observed.

I have no proof for my beliefs, my Deity asks for no worship, and needs no believers.

What classification would you put this in at?

1Cor 2:14
" The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that comes from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned"

Consider: if a terrorist was caught after a heinous act that led to the loss of thousands of lives…what would think about a judge saying, “No big deal – you are free to go.”

People would be furious and picket the courthouse demanding JUSTICE!
-
Furthermore, many non-Christians are “furious” about all the evil and atrocities that occur in the world…and use this as a reason to NOT believe that God exists…i.e. “If God exists, then why did this or that happen?”!

…and yet, you even bring up the word “Hell”…and these same people get angry!

-
Here is a paradigm shift for you:
If God were only JUST…then all of us would go to hell.

Yet, God is also merciful, gracious, and loving. So much so, He sent His Son Jesus Christ, that WHOEVER believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life!

WHOEVER.

That is, ANYBODY can accept His gift of salvation.

Don’t you think that is the exact opposite of an evil tyrant?
Don’t you see that that He is amazingly gracious instead?

when they believe that they have to recite the "Sinner's Prayer" (which is unbiblical by the way) in order to be saved?

well, isn't that an act of believing that you must work for your salvation?

Bible-fundamentalists really contadict themselves all the time!

I'm always interested in the stories of non-believers being "born again". But I've found very similar, sort of vulnerable qualities in almost all cases. They usually know next to nothing about the Bible until they open it up in the time of trouble, where they find it's not what they expected, and actually fills a void in their lives.

Then in Christian Ed class, I learned of a new video series we would be starting, and I was genuinely interested to hear a life story. But his position before turning Christian was similar in that he claimed the Bible was "boring, untrue, and irrelevant", without any real reason and no prior knowledge.

So what I'm looking for is the story of someone who knew the Bible, was fluid in both sciences and the Bible, and considered themselves with reason, an atheist. And then, after this, somehow came to be a Christian or religious person. I fully expect irrelevant comments that don't answer my request at all, but I'd appreciate the story of someone like this.

Would you sell me your soul?
Because you don’t need it. I do.

I’m serious. Just write on a sheet of paper, “{Your name here}’s soul.” Then sign it.
And underneath that, if blood isn’t a bother for you – could you prick your finger and Give me a fingerprint of blood beneath your name??

This way when I have sinned enough and someone comes to collect a soul, I can just use that extra one that I keep in my back pocket…

Thanks,

I Unfortunately, like so many millions of Americans, am a product of a public education system that offers no other alternative explanation to how life came about on this planet despite so much evidence attributing everything that exists in our universe to special design by our Divine Creator.

I blindly followed evolutionary theory because that was all I was ever taught. How did you come to discover the truth?

Most of us have heard that old adage "it's not what you know, its who you know". Do you find that to be true in your life or the lives of those around you?

I didn't know what category this would belong in, so I put it here in hopes of getting a good number of interesting answers.
