Luke 19:27 Jesus said, "But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me."

Slaying people is just NOT nice OR moral. You can slobber over someone who drowned, plagued, and slaughtered millions (more than Hitler), and repeatedly commanded his followers to rape and kill people, if you want to. I am not impressed by such things. To each his own.

I believe that Jesus existed and was a great man and teacher. But totally human. I think that he had a lot of great things to say. Too bad most Christians don't really follow what he taught.

Jesus taught a bit of everything, half truths of all kinds, mysticism sprinkled with logical reasoning. What exactly should be retained and what should be rejected has a lot to do with using logic.

Someone who says "I am God, or the Son of God, do what I tell you to get in the Kingdom of Heaven" might be delusional or psychotically megalomaniac.

Someone who says "It's not right to steal and murder" doesn't have to be of divine origins, doesn't have to born of a virgin.

Maybe the assumption that there was a god?

I like starting with simple things, like providing evidence that something exists, or that a book is factual. I could go running after unicorns or believing Harry Potter, but there isn't evidence for them either.

Prove to me that God is real and that Jesus isn't just a mythological composite, and then we'll talk. Gotta walk before you run, Maurice.

I'm not an Atheist, I'm Pagan...but this is some bulls h i t :

1 Corinthians

14:34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.

14:35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

Aren't you assuming too much?

Jesus had a few decent things to say but he certainly wasn't the epitome of moral wisdom. You're assuming I "object" to what he's said and mostly I don't. I don't like what he had to say about killing enemies... I don't like his delusions of grandeur... but for the most part he was alright.

And when I refer to "Jesus", I refer of course only to the fictional character.

Jesus is cool with me. I just don't think he died for my sins and was supernatural. His teachings seem to be right on the mark. Why does it seem that many Christains don't follow them? You know: Love your enemy, Tolerance, Don't judge, etc...

Well the mere fact that he said several times the old laws matter is more than enough for me. That means that he supported Leviticus and Deuteronomy.

Gods do not exist, unlike the spellcheck.
I object to people who do not use the spellcheck.
