Every believer is bound to be split.
There is no way to avoid it because the moment you believe in something you have decided not to listen to reason any longer.
But it is reason which finds facts, realities, indubitable truths.
So what are you going to do? Either you destroy your rationality completely -- that's why these people, these Bible-bashing Christians, shout and go on talking; they won't even give you a chance to speak. You may be speaking -- they go on reading from the BIBLE and flipping the pages. They don't care whether you are listening, whether you are questioning something, whether you are asking something, whether you are saying something, no. This whole thing shows their fear that if they really listen to you, they know what they have repressed in themselves: By their belief they have repressed their own reason, and your reason can call up their reason.

I love how they pick and choose which verses out of Leviticus to follow.
"Oh the verses on Burnt Offerings, Grain Offerings, Fellowship Offerings, Sin Offerings, Guilt Offerings, and slaves I don't have to follow because those were sings of the times. But the verses on homosexuality I have to follow"

Why don't you go visit an Independent Fundamentalist Baptist Church and find out for yourself rather than ask people who are not part of the group you are adressing the question to. It might help impart understanding on both parties

You assume that fundamentalists have a hateful nature.
We have a loving nature, but we don't tolerate sin..

I am a fundie. I don't hate anyone. You call it hate when we just tell you what God says in His Word. Maybe if it convicts you so much you should consider getting saved.

Some certainly do this, but not all.
Hey, they have to have *some* way to justify their fear (it's fear, not hate, really - imo).

What has light to do with darkness?
Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers.
If you are not a servant of the jesus, you are a servant of satan.
It is a common method to increase loyalty by directing hate/intolerance toward a common enemy (the unbelievers).
