1. First you're taught that you're born bad which makes you bad in the first place

2. After becoming bad, your excuses for being bad are "nobody's perfect" "only god can judge"

3. Than you ask god for forgiveness everytime you do something bad

4. After asking for forgiveness, you constantly do bad things and your excuse is "everybody falls short of the grace of god"

5. Than you finally stop the madness and call yourself a born again Christian

6. You go through life pretending you knew NOTHING about God when you were living wrong.

David S asked a similar q - Why blame UK & USA?. He chose a BA before I could post my answer, hence this q challenging his view that religion is irrational and outmoded and we should start to believe in "the essential logic of human kindness".

6000 years ago God told mankind to show respect, not to murder, not to commit adultery, not to steal and not to give false testimony. ANYTHING IRRATIONAL AND OUTMODED ABOUT THAT? Wouldn't the world be a better place if everyone followed these rules?

Is there any evidence to support the idea that human kindness is the way forward?

In Roman times, we were still cremating our dead. Then, when Christianity swept the West, we began to bury the dead. Does the bible specify cremation or burial?

What is the answer?

It begins with M and has five letters if you spell it in Urdu or English. Women do it once in a life time but men do it three times a day. It is brighter than the sun and darker than the night. If you drink it it is halal but if you eat it it is haram. It is mentioned in the Koran five times. What is it?

Just asked a question for some advice and people, without feeling any shame, told me to change my nick name. As if that represents my entire being.

Is there any hope for humanity to stop judging others based on such insignificant details yet?

Any Hindu please share his personal ( honest and real) spiritual experiences or feelings which an outsider might also experience. I guess people definitely experience spirituality in Hinduism (Idols, shrines, & religious rites) for if it had been otherwise, Hindusim would have perished.

People keep telling me that if I want to find a wife, I should join the church. I was brought up catholic, and I go to mass on Sundays, though not every sunday. But I don't understand how I would go about 'joining' the church.

Also, I know that this should not make a difference, but I'm an alcoholic with a pretty checkered past. Do you think they would want me there?
