when you ask or answer questions please stop quoting from the bible. it makes you seem uneducated and dependent. so when ever an atheist asks YOU a question they want to here the answer from YOU not the bible. prove to us that you can make decisions about yourself or the your religion by being independent thinkers that can make decisions with out having to run to your bible for help. and when you do run to your bible what does that say about you?? you obviously dont have enough faith in yourself and in your thought to make decisions on your own, so in a sense you do follow blind faith because thats all you know. and thats what helps you get through life, the security of the bible and when it is questioned its scary for you because is shakes the grounds of what you know to be real.

this is some advice from a freethinker. im not saying theres no god, im saying there is no magical man who judges you

What is the purpose of education?
Is it just to earn a living ... or is it for some
deeper purpose?

What do you think should be added to the present schooling to improve the lives of the children ... and therefore India?

There's 100% chance that if N.Korea sends one over here, that we will shoot one back at them. That causes global destruction. What would you do if you turned on the TV and it said, "BREAKING NEWS, N.Korea sends Nuclear bomb to US."?

but fail to see their own extremism????

The same people who mock islam for the 70 virgins in heaven don't seem to find anything weird about drinking the blood and eating the flesh of Christ.

The same people who point out Islamic barbarism seem to ignore the barbarism commited by nearly EVERY branch of Xtianity (I am not inlucding Quakers, Unitarians, the Amnish, and other branches that leave people alone).

I notice on here that the majority of atheists feel that Christians are either unintelligent or just gullible. Many also feel the need to belittle Christians because of their beliefs. Atheists state that there is no God. Really they don't know though, because as humans, we only have limited knowledge of things and they determine He doesn't exist because they either don't know God, or can't see any evidence of His existence. It is repeatedly stated that Christians base their lives on the mythology of the Bible, but we can't really know it is a myth. Really it should be they don't BELIEVE that He exists. Just because the Atheist doesn't know Him or see evidence of Him doesn't mean He doesn't exist. They would have to be all knowing for that to be true, which none of us is. So, since Atheists are entitled (sad as it may be) to state God does not exist, why are Christians not entitled to state that He does without being teased? Because Atheists also can't prove the non-existence theory

The last time I asked atheists why they insist on asking Christians questions, they said that he was trying to educate me. Christians don't need to be educated about religion. This is what Jesus said to the disciples.

"Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. . . . 13Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. 14And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: 15For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them." Matthew 13:11

"27But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise. . "

That Jesus was not God, only his messenger, and that we, like him, are the children of God? Do you think that it is something that is ignored or forgotten? Does it relate to the consolidation of church power?

The reason I ask is because it wasn't until the emporer Constantine decided to convert that Jesus moved from human to diety in order to allow the Roman populace to accept him as their savior seeing as he had to compete with other dieties, not prophets or humans. Diefying him seemed the best option to convert the populace, but somewhere along the line Christians and Catholics forgot that... Just curious...

I work, pay taxes, and obey the laws. I have family and friends, I love them and (this may shock you) they love me. I vote. I'm fond of children, dogs, cats, birds and selected reptiles. I even pick up litter.

So, what's not to like?

If you have studied Islam, you understand how man layers there are to this seemingly simple question.

You see, Muslims literally dont believe ANYONE leaves Islam. Like for example this Islamic YA'r http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070131152602AAU3WlX&r=w&pa=FZptHWf.BGRX3OFMhjRXWL3BG.2XP.JdxhBgsDI6emlCs9SWaA--&paid=answered#E8xTLTfWFGOBDcxmyAV6

Now if what I say is true, think about that for a minute. I mean, can you think of any greater indicator or brainwashing? Seriously, please think (ex: well, i guess if someone were to blow themselves up for their faith, that would be greater...wait).

People, again, I prefer to not over analyze this so you can get there yourself....just ponder this...Muslims literally believe no one leaves islam....just think about that...

I was a youth leader at my church until I was kicked out because one of the kids had a crush on me. She took portions of emails and created a note and gave it to the pastor. I did only one thing in that email that was true. I took her to work one day, after making sure she had permission from her father, who was also a youth leader. Nothing happened. I took her to work, dropped her off, and went back to college.

More recently, I have been trying to get a group of post-high-school students together for fun and games. We've met 3 times and now we can't seem to get together at all. Some quote scheduling conflicts. I think it has to do with the fact that my church is turning into the type of place no one wants to go to have fun.

The most recent event is a game night. I was going to charge people $2.00 admission to help support our group. However, the pastor thinks that because games are involved, it would be gambling. I'm done with this church! Do you think I'm right?
