I work, pay taxes, and obey the laws. I have family and friends, I love them and (this may shock you) they love me. I vote. I'm fond of children, dogs, cats, birds and selected reptiles. I even pick up litter.
So, what's not to like?

@ ommie: Of course I'm going to die. So are you. Everything living dies and everything dead rots.
The difference between us is that I'm not afraid of death, therefore I waste no time listening to some lowlife tell me how if I simply send him money and mumble the right words, then I can be sure that when I die I won't actually be dead.

Well I think you sound a lot like me, except for the picking up litter part. But I do help old ladies at the store.
On a serious note, it's difficult to hear people say things like "atheists must be so miserable", "atheists hate god", "atheists must have no hope", etc.

Nothing is wrong with you if you are a good person. My mom is the same way, pretty much perfect in every way, but has no faith in God. You have many things, but do you have grace? What does that mean? Are you thankful for having loving friends and family? Its your perception. Either you have all these wonderful things you are happy with and it's no big deal because it's just the way it is or it's because God loves you and it's because of this love that you have recieved these things. Take your pick.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with you being an atheist right now at this moment in time for it is who you are and what you must experience it can be no other way you see! Your life is at this point for the reasons you left behind! The only thing you must do is ask yourself, why you asked this question! I see like no other and no other sees like me but I can see through your question because once it was me!

according to Jesus Christ, the wages of sin is death (everyone has done something wrong) so we are all going to die. But if we believe in God we will have eternal life.

The only difference between you and them is that they've chosen to believe in a probably fictional supernatural entity without any evidence and you'd like a little evidence first.

The only time I do an answer critical of Atheism, is usually for the same reason I do an answer critical of Xians.

I would not say it is a wrong thing to be an Atheist. God loves you , He would like you to love Him bad and have you with Him even after this life. But if you are not interested, God will respect your choice. So will I. That is what free will is about. : )
