I posted a question earlier asking for help or advice on books that may put it into simpler terms and the only answers that I got were from non-Christians suggesting The Torah or the Quran.

"If a man takes a wife and, after lying with her, dislikes her and slanders her and gives her a bad name, saying, 'I married this woman, but when I approached her, I did not find proof of her virginity,' then the girl's father and mother shall bring proof that she was a virgin to the town elders at the gate. The girl's father will say to the elders, 'I gave my daughter in marriage to this man, but he dislikes her. Now he has slandered her and said I did not find your daughter to be a virgin. But here is the proof of my daughter's virginity.' Then her parents shall display the cloth before the elders of the town, and the elders shall take the man and punish him. They shall fine him a hundred shekels of silver and give them to the girl's father, because this man has given an Israelite virgin a bad name. She shall continue to be his wife; he must not divorce her as long as he lives. If, however, the charge is true and no proof of the girl's virginity...

The “true” meaning of the Bible may seem clear to you, but there are many different ways to interpret it.

why is it that some (not all i don't want to sterotype) judge others for thier beliefs? they get on here and use this as a place to judge others for not believing the same as they do? don't they realize that by judging others they have commited a sin of their own? how is this right by their own standards? shouldn't they be showing people the good of their faith and trying to sway them to believe the same? isn't that the point? how can you put yourself out there as being a judgemental jerk and expect people to see the light in you religion?

In Genesis ch.2, the Lord God tells Adam and Eve that they will die the very day that they eat from the tree of knowledge.
Then the serpant tells them they will become open minded and know the truth about Good and Evil, thus becoming Equal with the Lord God.
When they eat they become enlightened, and live for hundreds of years.
The Bible directly tells us God lied and the Serpent told the truth.
So without adding any outside Ideas (i.e. Serpent = Satan),
why does Orthodoxy claim it's the other way around?

that beside John 3:16, this is the most awesome scripture on the love of God? it is Romans 8:37-39: "No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love. Death can't, and life can't. The angels can't, and the demons can't. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, and even the powers of hell can't keep God's love away. Whether we are high above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing in all of creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord." I absolutely love that verse! Whenever I am feeling down or feel like I am not loved, I just read that verse and it blows me away to this day! God bless!

President Ronald Reagan said:

Without God there is not virtue because there is no prompting of the conscience... without God there is a coarsening of the society; without God democracy will not and cannot long endure... If we ever forget that we are One Nation Under God, then we will be a Nation gone under. (Myth of Separation 249)

Abraham Lincoln also acknowledged the necessity of having laws conform to God’s will:

It is the duty of nations... to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God and to recognize the sublime truth announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the Lord. (Myth 259)

The late Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen noted that the Declaration of Independence is actually a declaration of dependence upon God for our rights to “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
So, without God given rights we would be subjected to what man gives as rights with all the prejudices and biases.

"A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I don't permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner" (I Timothy 2:11-14).
"As in all the congregations of the saints, women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission as the law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church." (I Corinthians 14:34-35)

Are know gay. Republicans endorced gay's by saying they knew this guy was. But in the campaign adds they are putting down this cantidate for saying she believes in freedom of religion or to be gay. So we shouldn't vote for her she is to liberal. When she is saying the same thing they did. Isn't that being a little hypocritical?
