Kissing as a religious custom is not shagging someone. And also everything starts in the mind. Whether something is pure or impure is only a matter of the person's thoughts. Just like how you seem to think this is gay, and other members think of it as a gesture of devotion to their religion. So, in other words, please get your head out of the gutter.

This was a form of greeting, not a sexual act.

actually not gay, it was the social acceptable way to meet and greet someone in the society of that time.
A hand shake was not an expression of greeting
