I mean, the Archeoptyrex isn't enough evidence for me that dinosaurs evolved into birds. It may have just been some weird animal like the platypus. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if a 5000 years from now, they go extinct and scientist pick up a platypus fossil and claim that ducks evolved into beavers. Also tell me how creatures who haven't gone extinct for millions of years, like the celeocanth haven't evolved one teeny bit. Give me genuine proof and tell why the theory of Creationism or Intelligent Design aren't better than your theory of Evoltution.

I guess I want to know how far "in" one has to go with the organization as a religion -- I can see benefits, but I'm concerned about the so-called "cult-like" aspects of it -- I don't want to go broke or dump all my friends!

Based on this question,

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AnJOS5NnU7wd37Xt_Bve2YHsy6IX?qid=20061008170934AATpFzK

I also do not believe in God. So according to the dominant religion his soul and my soul well go to hell.

My follow up question is, will the roasting of our souls in heaven make a smell pleasing to the lord your God

A week or two ago.. I asked a question.." For you Witches.. wiccans... celts.. etc.. out there?". The first answer someone gave me is how I can associate Celts with pagans, witches, wiccans, etc. Well.. i can do this easily. I follow a celtic/avalonian path as well, and I know that the Celts are considered Pagans. And is was just a general question..asking for the help from all of the denominations... which are basically in reality considered Pagan.. because they are not of the Abrahamic religions of the world. If I have offended anyone, I am sorry. I needed a little bit of help from groups of people that I knew could answer my question for me.

In many ways we can say yes most wholeheartedly. Just like the junkie who is looking for the best high, so to does the religious addict seek to find the best high that any religion will provide. If one religion does not give them that high they seek out another to try and find it.
What are your thoughts?

Why would god want to send someone to hell simply because they didn't believe in him. A person could lead a perfectly moral life, but still go to hell for not believeing in God? Does that make sense to you? Since God made us and knows everything, he would have known when he made me that I wouldn't believe in him. So he made me to be tortured eternally? It's as if I built a robot that I KNEW was going to go on a killing spree. Once it gets done with the killing spree, I decide to torture it for doing what I KNEW it would do, what I MADE it do. Since God is supposed to be omnicient, there can be no free will. He made bad people to be bad and good people to be good.

It makes more sense that God is a myth created by humans.

I'm trying to find 2 specific verses but I cant find it ANYWHERE I look in the bible (I know its there). Now i cant remember word for word what the verses said, but I do remember the general message. The first goes something similar to this "No man is so wicked, so evil that GOD will not forgive him". And the second went something like "GOD's mercy is renewed everyday, I appreciate any help

Sura 5:51 commands Muslims not to take Jews and Christians as friends.

Sura 9:29 commands Muslims to fight against Jews and Christians until they either submit to Allah or else agree to pay a special tax.

I suggested an enquiring beginner wiccan stay away from Crowley and received two thumbs down. It's my opinion that Crowley was little more than a drug-addicted lunatic who offered little of lasting value to the magical community. Most of his work is considered to be worse than useless since he wrote so many tricks into it anyway.
Is there anyone who has found Crowley's work to be useful or beneficial? Or who considers it suitable for a beginning wiccan?

This question is in response to a question posted 30 to 40 minutes ago. The asker was not willing to believe that God destroyed Sodom due to men being engaged in homosexualty.

It is correct in understanding that the intention of the men of Sodom was to RAPE the angels who appeared as men. The asker conveniently forgot to tell everyone, though, that Lot offered the men the opportunity to RAPE his vigin daughters.

Now let's see. If I'm a heterosexual man and all I'm interested in is the violence of rape and I'm given a choice to rape a woman or a man ------- HHMMMM. Which one would I rape? The one that fits my sexuality or the one that repulses me sexually.

So yes rape is about violence but it is violence directed through ones sexuality. How would a heterosexual who is repulsed by the idea of homosexual sex be able to rape a man given a choice? Come on. You are casting a blind eye to the obvious. A heterosexual would not have a desire to express violence through homosexual sex given a choice of the two.

You might say well how about heterosexuals in prison who engage in homosexual rape. They are not given the opportunity to engage in heterosexual sex. When these men leave prison they return to sexual expression through heterosexual sex.

I admire those who are able to be truly devoted and "alone with God" even though they are in a group setting like church. But I'm not really able to do that. I'm too self-conscious. What about you?
