In many ways we can say yes most wholeheartedly. Just like the junkie who is looking for the best high, so to does the religious addict seek to find the best high that any religion will provide. If one religion does not give them that high they seek out another to try and find it.
What are your thoughts?

Some Guy: Nothing harmful can come from being religious? Inqisitions, Wars, wiping out most Native Americans, hate, bigotry... I could go on. But I hope you get the point.

In my opinion, some hop from religion to religion for the "shock value" of it.Alot of it is more of an attention getting ploy, really. But historically speaking, those who directed all their energy into religion, and felt "overcome with the spirit of God" were actually having an orgasm during the services.Just thought I'd add that in there, and I'm sure you can see where I could go with that.

I agree 100%. And yes, harmful things can come from religion. Look at the Spanish Inquisition. Look what's happening now in the Middle East. Religion is probably the #1 reason for the world's problems.

People who use religion to get some "high" or even some personal satisfaction are not truly religious. True religion seeks the one true God and not any feelings or highs. That would be worshipping false gods.

It doesn't have to, but for many that is exactly what happens. My aunt for instance, who is Catholic. She was diagnosed with leukemia and has since become a tad fanatical about her religion. I completely understand why that is happening, but now paranoia about all sorts of things being evil or bad is starting to cloud her judgment on a daily basis.

A healthy addiction. Nothing harmful can come from being religious. These people aren't truly religious, if they were they'd follow their religions teachings and these things don't come from religions, they come from crazy people using religion as an excuse to do those things.
