You hear about Scientology all of the time anymore, but what do they actually believe? I have tried to read about it, but get confused when they start talking about "the clear" and auditing sessions. Is there anyway someone can explain it in laymans terms? Only serious answers please.

say that everyting in the bible must be taken literally? The rules of the OT are stated as commands. Can you just ignore them?

If you have seen it...Who would be a good person to play the main charcter if they did a remake?

If you have not seen this movie...go see it. It is a great movie that lays the Gospel out clearly, and it will make you think.

If you have seen it, did it make you think? If so, what were your thoughts?

I'm confused as to why, when looking at certain replies to questions, Christians refer to themselves as "Not religious, just a Christian" which is a contradictory statement (considering Christianity is a religion with many different denominations). If you believe this, explain it to me, because as far as a logical person is concerned, that makes absolutely no sense.

I have heard people who have and they are ordinary people. I remember that on January, 9 months before the events of 9/11 occurred, I had a strange dream about war and at that time nobody talked about this. Then 9/11 took everyone by surprise. I barely dream about war so that was the first time.

Is this a coincidence or can it be possible?

45 Moreover you may buy the children of the strangers who dwell among you, and their families who are with you, which they beget in your land; and they shall become your property.

Leviticus 25:45 (New King James Version)

Is there any verse where Jesus says, "Oops! Maybe telling my chosen people that its ok to buy children . . . they shall become your property was a bad idea, sorry."

Any reperations for slavery made to the descendents of the Caaninites? Matthew 15:26 But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.” (NKJV)

I have two specific situations.

The first involves an older man with a wife and two children that loved to race cars. He was already wealthy enough to retire but despite the known risks, continued to race cars for his own enjoyment. He was killed recently in a car race. Would the Catholic Church see this death as suicide?

The second involves a younger man with a wife and two children who was obsessed with dangerous creatures. He was already wealthy enough to retire but continued to play with dangerous creatures despite the risks because it was his passion. He was killed recently by one of these creatures. Would the Catholic Church see this death as a suicide?

To the folks who answered the first quesiton..If Mary did not ask to be impregnated, which she did not - nor did she give permission to be impregnated then it is rape. If you are inserminated by artifical means and their is no sex involved, it is still considered rape. mary might have accepted it as a blessing, I will concede to this but it was LATER (AFTER THE FACT THAT SHE WAS KNOCKED UP) - but the fact she did not ask, or give permission the moment she was impregnated makes this rape. Or is it ok for someone (something) to inseminate you or your daughter without your permission as long as you accept it as a blessing? Mary being a good soul would not terminate the child, so of course after it was done and too late, had no choice but to say "it's a blessing - but face it - God raped Mary.

When you worship God in the worship services at your church, what or whom exactly are you worshiping?
Why does this supreme force need your worship?
Are you thanking this force for the fact that you are well and happy, while millions and millions of other people are homeless, sick, and starving?
When you go into a dark room and start talking to this entity, do you beg for things, thank it for things, or ask it why it doesn't intervene into the affairs of man and lessen his suffering? Just curious.

Chistian men seem to like it because I get compliments and whistles all day long. Christian women seem to think it is acceptable because I hear, "God" and "Jesus" all the time when I walk by.

I just need to know what God's idea of good fashion is. Is there anything in the Bible that speaks to dress style and length. Anything specifically that talks about mini-skirts?

20 “And if a man beats his male or female servant with a rod, so that he dies under his hand, he shall surely be punished. 21 Notwithstanding, if he remains alive a day or two, he shall not be punished; for he is his property.

Exodus 21:20-21 (New King James Version)

The stereotypical Christian answer is "we don't follow the Old Testement anymore" or "We live under grace".

Not one Bible verse will be referenced where Jesus says "Oops! I made a mistake with that one, people as property".

Christians might say slavery at that time was different, payment of debt, or that they would be set free at some point.

ITS IN THE BIBLE RIGHT THERE VERSE 21 - "FOR HE IS HIS PROPERTY"!!!

PROPERTY

Right now as you read this, there are ignorant, hateful Muslims teaching other ignorant Muslims how to put on a suicide belt. There are orthodox Jews telling other Jews how they must never leave their "holy land" no matter what the consequences are to other human beings. They assure their followers -- remember, they are not the chosen ones, we are. If we crush and oppress them, don't worry, God will excuse it, and even desires it, because He is on our side.

There are maniacal Christians who are praying for the end of time. Who are hoping that most of the world's population is wiped off the face of the Earth by their vengeful and murderous God. Whom they believe is, ironically, a loving God. Unless, of course, you make the fatal mistake of not kissing his *** and appeasing him, in which case he will slaughter you and condemn you to eternal torture.

What kind of sick people believe this?

Jesus in Matthew 5.17-20
I have come not to abolish them but to fulfill them.” His task was not to replace the law by something else, but rather to combat the purely legalistic externalization of religion among the Jews by the addition of the spirit of religion. He laid emphasis on TEACHING and DOING when he said : “Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called the least in the Kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”
Those are the teachings of Christ himself; but what does Paul say?
"You are served from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace. For through the Spirit, by faith, we wait for the hope of righteousness."
Galatians 5.4-5

Why are there so many self-rightous narrow-minded Chrisitians that stand in judgement of others?

I have been raised as a Christian & I find this behavior appauling. It totally turns me off. Sometimes I want to distance myself from these type "Christians" that act like like this.

Am I alone?

Someone asked on the channel if god cared what time we got up and if it mattered if we were early or late risers. He answered that god created light to give life and we are children of light. And darkeness is satan or something like that. I'm kinda freaked out, his answer wasn't very clear and I didn't understand it. I've been working grave yard for years now. I am sinning because I am up ALL night and sleep ALL day? It has never occured to me that this could be a sin.

Why else would they think that men and women could not divorce and remarry if their spouses were unfaithful? Why do they believe that man can achieve salvation through faith without works? Why else would they respect Henry VIII and Martin Luther?

I have just been through it as a matter of interest...the guy is mad as hell, but mad in my kind of way...He openly admits to being condemned to hell by the Catholics as I was at a young age (I was jokingly told I was the worst catholic since Gengis Kahn what I was but 12 years old). We both took very different philosophical routes from there, but I suddenly feel an empathy there none the less!

It is easy to pillary someone in public with this website, once again I am as guilty as the next man...

but are you brave enough to go one-on-one in debate though?
