Why are there so many self-rightous narrow-minded Chrisitians that stand in judgement of others?

I have been raised as a Christian & I find this behavior appauling. It totally turns me off. Sometimes I want to distance myself from these type "Christians" that act like like this.

Am I alone?

I thought the word teaches that judging was God's job ALONE.

I have seen it here on Yahoo! Answers over & over again. People who tell others that they are going to Hell, etc.

These judgemental people make me sick.

No, you are not alone. I agree that this behavior is appauling!

Some Christians, (not all) are very self rightous and narrow minded and they will stand in judgement of anyone.

They feel being a Christian gives them the right to be this way, for some reason. But I agree with you, judgement is God's job and no one elses.

I do not feel that it is wrong to use scripture to make a point. However, this is where our job stops. The person recieving the scripture can decide what to do with it. The rest is up to the person who recieved it. Whatever they choose to do with it is between them & God. We can not judge their decisions.

You can quote a scripture just for informative reasons & some Christians get so angry just because it goes against their 'personal opinions'.

A prime example, I answered a post here about scripture on miscarriage & abortion. I used scriptures about the subject only & another person that answered as well got so angry they tried to rebuke me. I just laugh at them, cause these type of Christians are far from knowing what the Bible says & they think that they know the heart of God.

You should just ignore these type of people because the Divine will deal with them.

Because people are people. The Atheists on here do it all of the time, But people call that open minded. The Muslims on here do it, but they are "Defending the Faith".
Christians would do well to actually read the Bible and heed the call of the Master. Especially those edicts like " Judge not....." and to come out of the World and act in a Christian manner. To Paraphrase the Apostle Paul,... For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of the Lord. No one has been perfect in the Law, No not one. Only he who was the Sacrifice of Nations was perfect, The Son of Man, Wonderful Councilor, Immanuel, The Christ Jesus.

It annoys me too that "christians" can tell someone else that that someone is "Going to Hell" Damning people is the sole power of God. Not the Angels in Heaven, Not the Pope in Rome, Not the Bishop, the Priest, The Reverend. Not the Choir leader nor the Choir member. Not the Liturgist or the Usher. Not the People in the Front pew nor the Back pew. Not the Catholic, the Protestant , or the Born Agains. Not even Satan in his self deluded quest to be God, has the right to tell anyone they are going to Hell. only God Alone. How many parables did Christ tell the Pharisees to this end? " do not look for the speck in your neighbors eye, until you take the log out of your own."

Well, no your not alone, I am also a Christian ,and some do feel like they can put judgement on other people wich is wrong, but i just let them think whatever they want as long as they dont try to judge me. The only one that can judge us is God! But you have to remember that not all Christians are like that, so when you talk about Christians being narrow minded, say Christians with exceptions.

Why do you people constantaly consider that when a Christian shows you what God is saying about what someone is doing, you automatically say they are judging that person, when it is God's word in the bible that judges what they do wrong and not the Chrsitian doing what God tells them to do, which is share His word with others. If you were raised as a real Christian you would know that answer to the quesion you posted.

Christians obey the word of God and never question what it says and trusts in Him, for His knowing what is best. Not go with what the rest of this sinful world is doing, just because you are ashamed of letting people know you are a Christian.

Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

We cannot judge those who are unbelievers. We only judge the believers.

But we are not judging what you think we are to judge. We are to keep each other accountable as Paul says that doctrine is good for REPROOF and DISCIPLINE.

As for judging other based on things that do not pertain to doctrine. Many judge in order to aid others in living a better life, some people are less tactfull when they do this, while others have a very good gift of saying it in the right way.

Believe it or not, you too judge. We cannot help it. In our hearts we know right from wrong and it bothers us when people do things that go against our sensibilities.

The worst sin of all could be "I shall no longer kill" passing judgement continues to be a sin besides the indisputable fact that that's something that we will no longer help yet do. once you are able to truthfully discover that iner peace and not decide every physique i think of your theory-approximately passing judgement as being a worst sin will substitute. God bless

I understand your point. But, please also understand there is a big difference between judgment and condemning others and being truthful. We live in a society where it isn't "PC" to say abortion or homosexuality is a sin. We live in a society where "peace" takes place before apologetics.

Jesus and all his disciples were strong in the faith and where telling like it is regarding the Pharasees and Sadducees. We have a lot of false religions today and religions based on man - not God - and while some think it may be judgmental to discuss (the Bible says to "persude men") these, we need to ask God if our actions please him.

In the end, we need to discuss these things in love, not hate or contempt.

Sorry you are "turned off" and want to distance yourself from your brothers and sisters in Christ.

Peace

I think Christians should feel free to share their views on any subject under the sun, especially those that affect them personally (like government policies). I don't always agree with their views, but I always give them fair consideration. They are "us" too.

That said, I agree that some Christians are excruciatingly narrow-minded and self-righteous. They wrongly believe that their religiosity makes them more moral than the rest of us and the purity of their faith gives them the right to set policy for the rest of us. That's arrogant and undemocratic.

No one has the right to judge anyone. However we can tell you the truth, that is our mission, given by Jesus Matt 28:17-20. Keep in mine the old saying: "If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, chances are: it's a duck." By their fruits you shall know them. Matthew 7:15-20

I don't like those types of Christians myself, and I try not to be one. I am no one's judge. I'm no better than anyone else. God looks on the heart.
