Buddha, Muhammad and Jesus were all flying together aboard an airplane. Suddenly, the pilot announced that they were experiencing engine failure and the plane was going down. Then he announced that there were only two parachutes for the three of them. The pilot told the guys to work it out as to who would stay behind and who would get the 'chutes.

The guys agreed that they would all say why they should get a parachute and then the pilot would decide. And so.......

1) Buddha said.....

2) Muhammad said ....

3) Jesus said ....

Why don't you hear of people getting exorcist in todays time? I've never known anyone to be inhabited by a demon - can that really happen to someone? If it can - how does it happen?
They say the movie The Exorcist was based on a true story..but it was a young boy not a girl.

Exodus 20:5
You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God

Job 20:28
A flood will carry off his house, rushing waters on the day of God's wrath.

Jealousy and wrath are two of the seven deadly sins. Is God a sinner?

This is an honest question. I hear so many people against and for prayer in school and other such notions. What would your idea of a perfect way for things to go involving religion and school? If you agree with religion in school would it be all religions, as in teachers teaching passages from all religions; the bible, the witches bible, the quran, ect..... If you are against it what would be your solution? No mention of religion of any kind? Please share your opinion and be polite so we may learn from each other.

I've experienced that kind of odd thing with my boyfriend. We dreamt about the same things for 6 months and when we met each other we shocked because what I dreamt the night before was exactly what he dreamt the night before. Please help me about this! I've asked a lot of people but their answers are still making me curious.

i just understood why it is that something in me has always rebelled against christianity, even as i went to sunday school and went to mass every sunday...
christianity operates on the principle that all people are fundamentally bad, wrotten apples who need to be miraculosly restored to their red shiny superego so that god can stand their presence....
i believe that all people are fundamentally good, though some are spoiled beyond recovery by their environment, most are just decent people trying to get on with life. sometimes they'll get bitten by a bird or an insect and they won't look so pretty, but they'll heal and they'll be perfectly good, delicious apples in the end.

i guess this isn't really a question, but i wondered how many people feel the same way? and for those who don't... why don't you?

please don't preach at me, i'm looking for YOUR own thoughts, not whole chapters out of the bible, i can look in there myself if i want to.

Yea I've never heard of such a thing, and I'm curious as to whether they exist. Also, please save the lackluster evangelistic efforts for Christ. I, myself, am training to be a missionary for the only true way. Also, atheists please save any crap for the comment above.

If this guy, (or guys, since there have been 2 different screen names) is so against whites, why doesn't he move to some remote african villiage, 100 miles from the closest white person? This "feel sorry for us", "you whites owe us" "you whites are racist" crap is getting real old. And racism is not a "religion" or is it "spiritual". Go to the Black Panther group if you hate whites so much. Anyone else wish these idiots would go away???

I suppose this has been asked a gazillion times but my propensity for sloth prevents me from doing the research myself, so bear with me.

This is regarding "free will." According to this belief system (as I understand it anyway), God in his wisdom and goodness gave us free will. I have the free will to choose the gift of his divine salvation or rot in hell. Or is that fry in hell? Whatever. So, here's my question: How can you call it free will when the consequences of using my free will to NOT choose his generous offer gets me a one-way ticket to you-know-where. I believe that is called (1) bribery (the gift of Heaven if I do what He desires of me), or (2) coercion (if I DON'T choose to believe, I am etenrally screwed). How do you explain this? Where is the "free will" in that? Thank you for any non-self-righteous response you may care to give. Peace.

I am not Christian but my religion is similar to Christianity (Sikhism) but a different culture and language. Christian people are actually really nice people and in the bible there a lot of good things. A lot of people say Christian history is untrue! Its not everything they say did happen! And I hate it when ignorant people think all Muslim people are bad, thats not true either!

Why do we lose it when we grow older? I've had my share of experiences as a kid. And no, I don't think they were imaginary considering the circumstances during my experiences.

I really miss those experiences. I wouldn't say that its because I've lost my innocence when I grew up, I've always kept an open mind about it. But still, I've never been able to "reconnect". What went wrong?

I'm not saying we should not have morals in politics (in fact it needs a whole lot of it)...but I have come to the conclusion that Priests, Bishops, Imams, Ayatollahs and other so-called anointed religious leaders cannot come up with sane political decisions and even help corrupt politics. You want proof: look at the USA where you have religious freaks go crazy over cartoons (Spongebob controversy ring a bell?); look at Iran where the Imams bless a loonatic monkey that wants Israel exterminated; look at my home the Philippines where Bishops can help block important laws from being passed and avoid paying taxes even if they have corporations and businesses...and all they have to defend their stands is "God did this...God did that"...Its stupid and making the other citizens look stupid.

Mother Theresa said that there was a great poverty of spirit and a sense of being alone, unloved, and unwanted in the world today. I agree with her. Many hunger for food yet I have found that even those hungering tend to have stronger faith than many of the wealthy. Could the greatest poverty be the poverty of the soul? Blessed are the poor.
Peace Be With You,

Luke 23.44 It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon, while the sun's light failed; and the curtain of the temple was torn in two. ****THEN*** Jesus, criying with a loud voice, said, "Father, into your hands I commend my spirit." Having said this, he breathed his last.

Matt27.50 Then Jesus cried again with a loud voice and breathed his last. At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn is two, from top to bottom.

From Luke is is clear curtain was torn THEN Jesus died. From Matt it's the oppsite (or close to it) it happened at the same time.

There are two conclusion I can come up with:
1) This is due to a mistranslation in the bible.

2) The bible isn't inspired by God.

If either of these are true, how do we believe everything in the bible. What else could have been mistranslated...homosexuals?

I've often wondered if God already knows every detail about your life, and already has it planned out from beginning to end, does prayer really make a difference? How can it change anything, if God already planned it?

It seems to me thast a benevolent god would prefer if people behave in a virtuous way, as Jesus would behave for example.

Furthermore, organised religion could be perceived to have a self serving motivation behind any statements that this is insufficient to enter heaven.

Could you please comment on the above. If you think I am off the mark, could you provide reasons why?
