It’s public knowledge that G W Bush stated that he prayed to God and God told him to invade Iraq. Presumably G W Bush believes in the Bible and God, and if so, this is a very sad state of affairs, as the Bible is obviously just an abundance of man-made fairy-tales and terrorist stories. It’s fiction, and there is no evidence to prove otherwise.

I certainly don’t believe in the Bible and I doubt any reasonably intelligent person would either. However, if you view the Bible as a man-made play script, with several actors God, Devil, Jesus, Satan, Adam, Eve, Noah, and so on, then you can certainly start to see a clever interwoven plot, that the audience is unaware of. It’s really just a drama thriller with clever twists.

You see, if you seriously think about it in an unbiased manner, then clearly the actor God in the Bible could really be the Devil, and the audience (religious believers) are being sucked into being the bad guys.

So who was it, God or the Devil that told G W Bush?

Since people believe he is real, and the lessons from the mistakes one could learn seem attributed to him, It seems just them holding that idea in their minds makes it very real for people who choose to beleive in him. This looks evil, must be satan. I don't understand this, must be satan. You shouldn't figure that out, satan is tempting you. You want to learn some metaphysical concepts of how god works, must be satan. When Eve ate the apple because of her curiosity, must be satan. The point is satan seems to be a synonym for fear and misunderstanding. If you really believed and knew where you were going after this life, you would have no fear and satan disappears completely. The apple from the tree of knowledge wasn't a test. Curiosity was born that day, and thus the adventure began.

why then do so called churches have paid ministers, fancy buildings, expensive robes, art, gold, swiss bank accounts? Is that not the very opposite to what he said when it would be easier for a camel to get thru the eye of a needle than a rich man into heaven?
Thats why i hate religions - the hypocrasy, not the morality

Or should I just let it burn through?

About 2 hrs ago I asked how you light it, which I know how to do, and I just tried it and it worked, but could you tell me if there's a way to put it out? It's for Lammas. Thank you, you're all great people! ;-)

Why is it that to get into heaven, when on television the Evangelical churches often say that I need to have my credit card ready! or words to that effect, pay a tithe. Usually with some ify reason to phone in? Some churches (or television preachers) ask people for large donations, donations poor people can ill afford.

Do others find this distasteful? Is it these churches that keep people "a safe distance from a God" that they can not afford?

Please do not tell me this does not happen because I have witnessed it many, many times. Is it time to rein these blackmailers, or expose them for what they are?

I read it on yahoo answers every day, that Jesus is Truth. If this were so, why isn't everyone following Jesus. Wouldn't the fact or the knowledge that this is the truth be so obvious that everyone on Earth would want to follow it. Why is it rejected

Why? Ok. When I read the Bible for myself. I read Jesus as being "straight forward." That is to say, what I'm reading and what I'm seeing is totally different. Every denomination has it's own rules and regulations. If each denomination is preaching and proclaiming Jesus as the Messiah, they are indeed one body right? But somehow I don't think they are. I dunno. Maybe I'm naive or just over simplifying things? Ok. Check this out. There was a prophet or preacher in the Bible (Phillip) that Baptized an Ethiopian Eunch. The Eunch was reading something about Jesus and Phillip asked him if he believed what he read. He said yes. Then the Eunch asked if Phillip could Baptize him and Phillip did. The Eunch went away rejoicing. Not confused. Not frustrated. Right now? I'm frustrated with organized religion. Any thoughts?

If the only way to understand the Christian Bible and Christ is to become a believer in it, how can I do that if I don't understand it. What exactly would I be believing in if I didn't understand that which I am to believe?
