Since people believe he is real, and the lessons from the mistakes one could learn seem attributed to him, It seems just them holding that idea in their minds makes it very real for people who choose to beleive in him. This looks evil, must be satan. I don't understand this, must be satan. You shouldn't figure that out, satan is tempting you. You want to learn some metaphysical concepts of how god works, must be satan. When Eve ate the apple because of her curiosity, must be satan. The point is satan seems to be a synonym for fear and misunderstanding. If you really believed and knew where you were going after this life, you would have no fear and satan disappears completely. The apple from the tree of knowledge wasn't a test. Curiosity was born that day, and thus the adventure began.

Satan

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of God plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

Satan is the God of ignorance. And for it suffers more than anything else in hell. Scholars have belief that when Jesus lets him loose from hell in the end of days he will ask God for forgiveness, but God has said that he is to far gone. It is said that he will charm the world. Also he can take the form of anyone to trick you into following him. He doesn't care about you but he wants to hurt God by taking you from him. It's a mind game. That's why Jesus say to find the truth, intelligence not ignorance so you will know the difference.

Actually, if you subscribe to most forms of Christianity, Satan is a real being. He is a fallen angel that went against God and was cast out of Heaven; Thus, Hell was born. What it boils down to is this- If you believe in God, you must believe in Satan, so Satan is just as real as God.

Hello friend,
You have danced all around the truth.
The word "Satan" in the Greek language is Santanas and simply defined means adversary.
So much of what you've said in your question sure looks adversarial to me.
By the way, Satan, the Devil is a fallen archangel who does not
have a literal physical body (soma in the Greek) as we do.
Blessings,
2 Tim. 2:7

Satan is the representation of all things that were deemed evil and benign. But going back to your question: satan manifests itself physically, just read the papers and listen to the news and you'll know what Im talking about.

But you know what, your observation made sense... I remember those lines Pacino said in Devils' Advocate... you're a smart fella.

The Bible tells us that Satan is a real being , he is alive and affecting the world today. Fortunatley, this is only for a period of time, someday Jesus will cast him into the lake of fire and he will be gone forever.

Satan is in heaven physically!
He is guarded and watched day and night!
he can leave his body, in spirit and speak to men, and many other things.

He will be thrown out of heaven soon and fall to earth where he will setup his kingdom

the only physical body that satan has... is the one he possesses from someone else...

Satan is real... and he is tempting ... he is the greatest liar of all time... so great that many people do not even believe he exists.

'Satan' is a name given to evil in order to refer to it. Satan is not a person, or a physical being.
