Why? Ok. When I read the Bible for myself. I read Jesus as being "straight forward." That is to say, what I'm reading and what I'm seeing is totally different. Every denomination has it's own rules and regulations. If each denomination is preaching and proclaiming Jesus as the Messiah, they are indeed one body right? But somehow I don't think they are. I dunno. Maybe I'm naive or just over simplifying things? Ok. Check this out. There was a prophet or preacher in the Bible (Phillip) that Baptized an Ethiopian Eunch. The Eunch was reading something about Jesus and Phillip asked him if he believed what he read. He said yes. Then the Eunch asked if Phillip could Baptize him and Phillip did. The Eunch went away rejoicing. Not confused. Not frustrated. Right now? I'm frustrated with organized religion. Any thoughts?

"Religion" IS the MAN-MAID ORGANIZATION of one or more groups opinion on a Truth that lies only in the hands of a God that left us to sort it out here on earth.. footprints were clearly left...funny enuf those footprints are the CORE principles of all religions.. the sticky part is the fine print lol....in an effort to feel stabalized in the midst of the ever increasing-neverending DOUBT alot of us choose to follow the footprints of cultural tradition, politics, fear and government, instead of the practical essense of a RELATIONSHIP and ORIGINAL CONNECTION with God in conjuction with and NOT in contradition of our individual lives, hearts, outlooks and situations.

First of all thanks for asking a nice sincere question with no swearing or cutting anybody else down!!

I've read the F word more times today in here than ever before!

When Jesus Returns He is coming for a Unified Bride. The Church that loves Him. I think that since Satan Couldn't get the victory over Jesus on the cross now all his efforts are on dividing and conquering the Christian Churches! Lord help us to be one!

I'll have to admit, for a great many years I believed ALL organized religion was corrupt - and I still do. All denominations seem to be worried more about their doctrine and less about Jesus.
Most Christain religions are, however, in agreeance about a few things
1) God created all things
2) Jesus is God in the flesh. born of a virgin
3) He lived as a man and died on a cross as the final blood sacrifice
4) He fought death and was resurrected
5) He lives today
6) God is love (agape love, forever and eternal)

A denomination is not the way to heaven, but we are told to fellowship with other Christians, please, even if you don't go to a church building on Sunday, commune with other saints.

You know whats right and wrong. You dont need organised religion to live a good life.
But if you want to follow a religion remember tha it has been rewritten for 2000 years and people make mistakes in their work. Most wars are directly linked to religion, thats the wost example of organised religion. But people going to church or their temple is a good thing because they wish to be part of a caring community who worship their god in the same way. It cant be all bad.

Try talking to one of Jehovah's Witnesses, listen to them carefully. Organized religions are turning many away from God, talking to a Jehovah's Witness about this will clear things up. You will understand why things are the way they are. I cannot possibly type out what would be easier to relate in person with Bibles in hand. Don't let others discourage you from seeking an answer, this is what Satan wants, to discourage you from seeking the truth.

I am an Occultist, I trust no other to teach me the truth. I would suggest the same for you. Another perhaps more successful option would be to point out the faults in the way your pastor is teaching. Believe it or not as religious leaders they are used to questions. I advise asking them about what you wish to learn.

If they say something to the tune of you sound like the devil go away with your unfaithful self. Then do precisely that. I was kicked out of church for asking a question, that is also the day I chose to find the truth myself. To question all my leaders. From those who teach me to fold my laundry, to those trying to tell me the meaning of life.

Hails to the learned heart,
Silence

It's a tough call. The minions of satan have been eating away at religion for centuries. For example, I recently left my own church because they formally declared solidarity with Hamas and pledged themselves to aggressive divestment from Israel. The last straw was how the wording of the declaration made it clear that they intend to seek Israel's destruction. Any church that advocates genocide, very clearly serves satan and not God and I will have no part in that.

People are not perfect like Jesus... only through him will we be made perfect...

think of your Church not as full of perfect people... but of seriously wounded... and the Church is the emergency room to keep them alive.
