He is, of course, not dead.
Nietzsche just went to someone else's funeral by mistake.
He is still struggling on, though rather injured I think from many wounds.
Once he is truly dead, and there is no risk of his being reincarnated he will be left in peace.

God is not dead, His is flesh in heaven waiting to have supper with us at the marriage table. He has said He will not eat until we are with Him.
When Jesus appeared before His disciples, they didn't believe that it was Jesus, and Jesus replied to touch Him, He was flesh, and then He arose on a cloud up to Heaven...

"God is dead" is just the expression for today's morals and values, or lack there of. personally i don't see "God" as a person but consciousness of what is going on around us, and justification of what we do not know.
