Yes I went to church, relief society, and Sunday school. In the sacrament meeting the topic was how to keep your faith and how to spread the gospel. The Sunday school lesson was about Elijah going to the widow for food and blessing her by having her food last until the drought was over and healing her son who was about to die. This was in 1 Kings. Relief society we discussed ways to spread the gospel through our actions again. It was all great.

I can't answer the question since my religion doesn't have churches. I just wanted to say that I enjoyed reading the responses. Once I worked in a place where every week the church-goers would give me a "thought for the day". In this they would sum up the week's sermon in a simple sentence. I always enjoyed that. They were always honest and sometimes they would say, "You know, there wasn't really a theme this week". But most times they gave me good food for thought. They knew I was happy with my religion so they didn't try to preach at me--they only gave me a simple "thought for the day".

I wish you'd ask this question every week.

Yep. It was about how you should trust God, and not listen to people who say things like "If there is a God why do bad things happen" and he used the metaphor that if the doctor came to your house when you were sick and told you the medicine you were taking was making it worse and perscribed something and then after he left the plumber who was working on your sink comes in and tells you the doctor is wrong and he probably has stock in that company and that's why he wants you to by that medication, who are you going to listen to? The doctor or the plumber? What does the plumber know about medication!!

We call it a Homily, there is no yelling.Original sin. Adam and Eves sin was that they believed they knew better than God. They wanted to choose how to live. You have a car and no matter how much you want that car to run on coca cola it will not run on it. You can demand you can order it but the rules remain that it requires gas. We think we know best how to live and God has made rules. Too many people choose to disregard those rules and end up like the car on Coca cola-out of order.

Yes. It was about how every person in the Body of Christ has a unique part to play within that Body. The whole body suffers to some degree the more the parts aren't using their gift and doing their job.
