I looked up the Greek word for 'cross' in Strongs and got a description different from what I know (or thought I did) a cross to look like. So I would like a drawing or specific verbal description of what a stauros, or cross, looks like.

It is interesting to lift your brain above your emotions and faith. It helps to understand other perspectives.

Going Along with the first question...Saturday I took my kids to the local fair..My 13 yr old son comes off a ride, say "mama, I'm not feeling well"..then drops to his knees, then flat on his face. Me being 115 lbs trying to pull him over was like rolling over a stone, I also had two babies in a stroller. I looked up at the people around, for someone to help. I screamed for someone to get help. can you believe most people just chose to avoid the situation. After what seemed like forever...a kind old lady selling hamburgers came over with a spray bottle, and two men came out of the wood work, but for the most part..people really didn't want to help. I'm just wondering what is wrong with people. I wouldn't hesitate to help! one of the men that came over to help..didn't even budge until I looked him into his eyes. WHAT IS GOING ON. I know it was very hot that day but would that have stopped YOU from helping?

I had heard this a while back and was wondering if there was any truth to it. This is specifically geared towards Catholics. Thanks in advance for your answers.

Jesus said, “Greater love has no man than this, that he lay his life down for his friend.” According to Jesus, the greatest act of love is to sacrifice one’s life for another. This means that giving one’s life for another is a greater act of love than providing food for him, giving him a family, being nice to him, or honest, or helpful, or whatever. Self-sacrifice, to the point of death, is the very greatest act of love.
Has Allah performed the greatest act of love? The answer is no. Allah has not sacrificed himself at all. Allah has not died for another. Allah has not loved us to the point of death.
In Christianity, Jesus, who is God in flesh (John 1:1, 14), laid His life down for us. Jesus performed the greatest act of love.

I've seen alot of questions here that make no sense because the elements in the questions contradict it self. Example: If you died and went to heaven and the Gods said christianity is a joke i cant beleive you fell for it?

I'll bet half of the people who think they're going to heaven are going to fak up in one way or another and your so called mercifull lord will deny you at them pearly gates in the sky. The other half who actually get in Oh My they are the most stuck up tight asses one could imagine why would you want to go live with them when everyone knows where the real partys gonna be?

Since God took a rib from Adam to create Eve - she has a man part that creates life and becomes a woman - therefore she is transgendered.

Agree?

Noah notably did both: all God commanded and all the LORD commanded, which were as contrary as 2 vs 7, as contrary as keep seed alive vs sacrifice(slaughter) it, as contrary as God and LORD, which is to allegory say as contrary as Grace and LAW. And where did such get old Noah? It got him inducted into a hall of shame wherein these all DIED and received NOT the promise.

Jesus notably also plays it both ways, plays both sons: Son of man and Son of God. But concerning Son of man it is said the Son of man should repent: Num 23:19; which would include old Daniel who had "night" visions, for he's also called "Son of man", and finally told to shut up (about) and seal it (the book of Mosaic law law he was reading). And concerning Son of God, it is not wise to be Son of God(dividead) on "high" in plural and divided "heavens", no, not even if right of such left/right "hands", which is notably a "fearful" thing, whether left or right of "division". For if any are left(behind) it accurses all

christians say that people sin because they have free will and it is the sinner's fault for sinning. But at the same time they believe in prophecy and destiny, which are arguments for determinism. You can't have it both ways. Either you believe that everyone is completely free to make their own decisions at every moment in time, or you believe that every life story has already been 'written' and it's just a matter of fufilling what has already been planned out. You can't believe in both. That's a gigantic contradiction.

and I got like maybe 2 answers to my ACTUAL QUESTION. I did not ask if I should personally be good or anything. I asked and will ask again -- the Bible states that at the end of the world there will be war, etc. - bad stuff happeing (you all know what I'm talking about). My QUESTION IS -- this is supposed to be the Word of God --- meaning that (yes I know men wrote the bible)....THIS IS THE WAY IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE --- THIS IS WHAT GOD HAD PLANNED OR IT WOULD NOT BE IN THE BIBLE, RIGHT? SO WE CAN'T CHANGE A DARN THING, CORRECT? If this is "satan's doing" -- then WHY DID IT END UP I THE BIBLE? Did they have a meeting and discuss WHAT was supposed to happen? I'm not worried about nor care when the world it going to end. So that is not the question. You do not need to tell me to Follow Jesus ----- I JUST WANT A GOOD ANSWER TO MY QUESTION (LIKE I SAID, A COUPLE OF YOU READ THE QUESTION AND THANK YOU). A ?? ONLY--NOT A REQUEST ON HOW TO BE SAVED OR ANYTHING. I KNOW THAT STUFF.

20Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. 22Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, 23but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, 24but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength. ! Corinthians-- God is not mocked, the Truth is the Truth and it will make men stumble. This is far from new news, but blessed are those who believe and have not seen. His Word will not return void! principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness
