I'm not Christian, but when I was I answered questions in my mind without referencing the beliefs I was taught. I did this to have a better understanding of why everyone was not practicing my religion. This internal activity is what led me to non-belief.

Yes, I have tried solving moral problems without references to God. Here's an example: Homosexuality is considered to be a moral problem, but consider this: You can argue that homosexuality is unnatural based on science. I use the illustration of a biosphere for this.

Assume you took 1,000 men and put them in a biosphere. You gave them the tools and training they would need to produce all their own food, clothing, and shelter. You seal them up and arrange that they will have no contact with the outside world for 150 years. When someone finally goes back to check on them, what will they find? Simple. 1,000 dead men. Why? A colony made up entirely of men can't reproduce. Now, would it change anything if you used 1,000 women instead? Nope. A colony made up entirely of women can't reproduce.

So if you took 500 men and 500 women and put them in a biosphere, it is possible that they would all be dead after 150 years, but there's also the possibility that the colony would have some new survivors. Now, let's give it a twist: Suppose the 500 men and 500 women were all homosexual -- what would happen then? What SHOULD happen is that all 1,000 of them should be dead after 150 years because human beings that are truly homosexual don't engage in sexual intercourse with members of the opposite sex. Of course, one could argue that they may engage in sexual intercourse in order to continue propagating the species, but if they were to do that, they would be admitting by their very actions that their sexual orientation is wrong and contrary to the laws of nature. A colony made up entirely of homosexual men and women who are TRULY homosexual would not survive, and that is definitely contrary to the laws of nature because science has proven that ALL animals have the instinct of survival.

Something to think about...

They can't. It is impossible for them to answer any sort of question without referencing God or the Bible. Their minds are so warped and twisted from common sense that it's impossible for them to think outside the book.
Just look at how they react any time an atheist comes in here and posts a question that challenges the foundation beliefs of Christianity.

I never give it much active thought. I just do. If it comes from God or me that's irrelavant.

As for Bible quotes, those are reserved only for people using Bible quotes.

Wrong to kill an animal? For food, no. For clothing no. If it's between them and me, I choose me! For sport, yes. For fun, yes. In the Bible God ordered men to sacrifice spring lambs, so it is by God's orders man does it!

Get the picture? God never gave me nor anyone else detailed instructions, so i have to figure that out myself. God gave general instructions. It's up to me to figure out what is right and what is wrong.

Are my choices influenced by God, possibly, but I don't stop, pull out a Bible, look in the index under "dealing with animals" and consult the "good book" to see what I'm supposed to do next, especially if the Lion is charging at me!

Yes, I've tried many times and failed. This is not to say that I'm not capable of doing it, but I'm not one to beat my head against the wall when I'm unable to attain a solution. I try to "lift my brain" by refusing to be discriminatory so that I can understand "other perspecitves", but ultimately i find myself in the Book when I can't realize the answer to my problems.

Our bodies are carnal in nature... we need to become righteous.. so the only way to do this is to follow the teachings in the Bible and other scriptures.. so.. moral problems.. need reference to God and scriptures.

Just because we refer to God and scriptures.. does not mean that we do not understand other perspectives.

... and.. I prefer to keep my faith.

i changed into uncovered interior the womb to believe. My father is a pastor of a church and has been a minister for the reason that i changed into conceived. the only time that I had a question of religion changed into when I placed all my faith in guy. i think that this man or woman changed into so holy, non secular, and forthright that I misplaced sight of the genuine that technique of being a believer changed into. i changed into chatting with this man or woman on the phone on a job that I had and believed that he changed into on the up and up. even as he made disparaging feedback about eager to take me to mattress and 'do me genuine good' changed into when I had the wind knocked out of my sails. i did not have any theory that this man or woman may say some thing like this or perhaps imagine it b/c he had such an impact on my non secular perspectives and faith in him and under no circumstances the word that he changed into preaching. It changed into God who, in his way, confirmed me that I had my faith in guy and under no circumstances Him. That lesson changed into the hardest, maximum faith frustrating part of my existence that I surely have ever been through. I surely have for the reason that grown into my own with my faith and ideology and discovered no longer to placed my believe in guy for my validity in God. only He has the skill to modify my recommendations now and under no circumstances any guy.

when i answer questions outside of religion & spirituality i won't bring up God unless they do, but without God there are no absolutes, there are no standards for morality, because what right does man have to say what is right and what is wrong?

All religions preach their believers to live in good morality.

Yet there are may religious teachers caught for immorality. Even saints are not perfect, if they are; they won't be in human form.
