Dear Father, please be with this heartfelt request that was placed on this board for Robin and Jeff. You know their situations and the circumstances surrounding this, and I just pray that you will intervene and touch their hearts. Bring into their lives people and circumstances that will make them aware of the danger they are playing with. Help them to see the hurt that they are causing by their actions. Convict them and give them no peace until they admit the wrong and turn their lives around. Please comfort and strengthen the family and friends involved in this painful situation right now. I just ask that they would be able to feel your loving arms round about them. Bring people alongside them to bear this burden and to encourage them. Amen.

Yes, Robin and Jeff are now on my prayer list. Some people at this age leave God's path only to return to it when they come to realize That God's way is the one One True Way. I Speak from personal experience. Have Faith that this will be the case.

No. What they might be doing to the family may be wrong, but turning against God is the right way to go. Everyone should crawl out of the hole that religious people are stuck in. About that family part, go seek some counselling.

As an athiest I can't do that. While I am not concerned about them turning against God I'm just hoping that this is the only way that they are going against your family and are not bringing harm upon themselves and others.
If they do not believe in God please do not use him as a method of bringing them back to your family. Just let them know that you are there for them.
All the best.

If you love them then allow them their freedom to believe what they want.
I would gues that they are not turning against their family but feel they are being rejected by their family!!!
It would be entirely unchristian to reject a loved one for not believing what you do. If you put church before love of family you will end up with just the church and it will never replace the family.
Christians are supposed to love other people not reject or ridicule them or seek to dictate to them.
Say prayers for yourself asking your God's forgiveness for your thoughts and actions and ask for help in becoming a better more tolerant Christian and a more loving and accepting person. Then you might just find the courage to swallow your pride apologise to your boys and welcome them back into the family.
Remember it is you who believe in judgement day!

This must be tough for you so I suggest some prayers for you too! You need to look at the root cause of why they are turning against their family. Work on that first and try to accept that they have different beliefs to you. Do not try to force you beliefs on them as that will only drive them further away so come to this compromise.
I hope all works out well for you.

Pray for what? Them to find your version of religion? That's casting a spell, trying to interfer with their free will and is a BIG no-no.
Never pray for someone against their permission. Never. You only damage your own eternal soul in doing so.

Why don't you leave them to get on with their lives? After all they're eighteen and entitled to make up their own minds. And why wouldn't they turn against God? God is the figure-head of religions, and religions are the cause of the vast majority of war, hatred and anger in the world today.

Sure, I will pray that they will be happy and that no matter what their own beliefs, that you, their family and themselves will continue to love and support each other.
18 is a time for exploration, they have to find their own way.
If you believe in God, then trust in him. x
