Last thursday night I went out with my friends and I had half of a small drink, that Sunday I went out for my friend 21st birthday party and I had half of a small drink as well. But after while of being with my friends I felt so bad about going so I left both nights early. I feel as if God is mad at me for going.
I wanted to support my friends, but I don't want them to feel as if I'm interested in hanging out with them any more. because I leave early? WILL GOD FORGIVE ME FOR THE MISTAKE THAT I MADE FOR GOING OUT I WANT TO HAVE FUN WITH MY FRIENDS, BUT I FEEL BAD WHEN I GO OUT TO HAVE FUN? iS IT REALLY BAD TO GO OUT IF YOU ARE TRYING TO BE SAVE?

God forgives you, but you must decide which master you will serve---God or the devil. You will likely have to let go of your friends if you want to follow God. You cannot live in a worldly manner---drinking and smoking and using drugs----and serve Christ. Clubs are dens of the devil and all sorts of evil transpire in them. You cannot grow spiritually by frequenting them. It is your decision to make, but if you want to follow Jesus then you are going to have to give up the old ways and this means giving up your old friends. Not to worry, you will make new ones. Jesus loves you.

This is exactly why Christianity pisses me off sometimes. You are willing to waste your life worrying about drinking socially, not hurting anyone at all... just because someone has told you or instilled in you that God is mad at you for it. Can you tell me what in the world is wrong with it?

Really... think about it. Take murder. You would know that it's wrong to murder even if God never said anything about it, right? Well, what about your few drinks? Would you know THAT was wrong if it weren't for some belief in God? Nope.

And furthermore, the Bible says not to get drunk. It does not say that you can't have a drink or two.

Relax. Then again, you might wanna worry more about the premarital sex. Your God REALLY hates that one.

Most ordinary people, some good, some bad, have a drink, say like red wine, just to enjoy the taste. They also go out to clubs / parties to listen & dance to good music. As long as you stick to your morals & behave in a way that is appropriate. God wants you to have fun while being "save". Set an example of what you stand for while taking part in everyday activities.

I read some of the answers given you and most have (as you can expect from the Internet) BAD Advice. What you experienced was God's convicting your heart.

The Bible says to come out from among them, and not be a party to their ways. Of course you are worried about offending your friends - but then - they do not seem to worried about offending you. The Bible says those who are friends of this world is an enemy of God's.

When a friend asks you to a night club - THAT is a worldly affair and you have no business there as a child of the King (Jesus). If you are invited to a Birthday Party or wedding celebration ask if there be any lewd activities (strippers, dirty games or jokes) and if so, respectfully decline. As far as drinks go - you can go to the party, just refuse a drink - which should be no insult to anybody because even ex-alcoholics choice to not imbibe must be respected.

Just remember the Word says THEY (the world) think it strange that we do not do as they do, think as they think and engage in the same activities (drunkenness, lewd behavior, etc).

I remind you this - that The HOLY SPIRIT leads us and convicts us - and it is not you convicting yourself - so listen to to God's spirit and not man's own lust speaking (many so called Christians still walk after the flesh and not by spirit)

JESUS SAID..., [Gospel of John 16:7-9]

7 But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.
8 When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt[a] in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment:
9 in regard to sin, because men do not believe in me;

Why did you feel guilt? So far as I can tell you did nothing wrong.
There is no sin in drinking. The problem is in drunkeness. There is no sin in pleasure or good company. God does not ask you to be in perpetual prayer. You are the one who feels bad, not God. Why is that? Loosen up a little and take pleasure in Creation. If you do not, you have wasted your time in the Land of Life. Personally, my idea of Hell is sitting on my knees singing praise FOREVER. What a waste of eternity. Death is not the End and Heaven is not the End. Forever is longer than all of time so far...
Think about it.

Living life on this earth in our mortal bodies calls for BALANCE. God knows everything that you are doing and are going to do and He is not a condemning God. What happened to you is called CONVICTION. The Holy Spirit is just directing you through making right decisions. YOU are the only one that condemns you, not Christ, sweety. God is not mad at you. Repent and ask forgiveness, also realize that NO ~ GOING TO A CLUB and having a drink is NOT a sin... you feel defiled and Christ says that it is not what goes INTO us that defiles us, but what comes OUT. What is coming out of you is a need to be righteous. That is noble, child. Being saved, consecrated and set aside DOES require sacrifice, but you are still allowed to have your personality. Do not be hard on yourself. Just strive for righteousness knowing that only Christ is truly HOLY...we are constantly being sanctified, or washed by Him, but will never get to perfection until we meet Him again. Relax, Darling, we serve a faithful, forgiving loving God. Study your word and be yourself.
Peace. Psalm 46:10 ~ Be STILL and KNOW that I am GOD. Be still, girlie! Be still.

For heavens sake....go out and have some fun. The odd drink will not hurt. Just don't drink and drive. If you don't wish to have an alcoholic beverage then just have a soda. I'm sure they won't mind.
You are young and if you enjoy your friends' company, then by all means go and join them.
You can still be a good person and still be saved, even if you enjoy your life and have fun. Do it!

1. if you are saved.. you don't have to question His forgiveness
2. you don't have to try to be saved.. you try to stay righteous in His eyes
3. going out is not wrong.. it is not a sin BUT.... why are you there... and what is going on around you.. is there not sin in the clubs and parties?? Do people not lust and get drunk, cuss and fight?!? And does God do any of those things?!?! NO and none of His people should do things that are things He wouldn't do...

Be imitators of God (Ephesians 5:1)... Vile men, adulterors, theives, liars and sinners will not inherit the Kingdom of God, Therefore, do not be partakers with them (Ephesians 5:6-7 paraphrase)....

By supporting your friends.. you are supporting sinful lifestyles... encourage your friends to support you in your walk with Christ OR... leave them be and ask God to send you some new friends. When you come to God.. you have to act accordingly.. one of the things you are supposed to do is bring other people to Him... you need to set good examples for them and you going to church and then going to a party that very night does not make you look like a "good Christian".. you are not of the world therefore, do not act like it... there are many things that are not forbidden but b/c of our love for God and wanting to do things acceptable to Him.. we don't do them..... you're friends will NOT get you into Heaven they can be lost and you will gain better

Your God sensitive conscience is telling you something!
I suggest you listen to it.
God doesn't want you to be tempted by going to the places where satan reigns. Make sure you guard your heart and mind and keep away from places that you KNOW you shouldn't go in the first place.
Yes, God always forgives if we will ask Him. Read I John 1:9.

I have a question that I hope you will e-mail me about. How are you trying to be saved? You either are saved or not. Not trying to be smart there, plz forgive if it sounds like it. Read Ephesians 1:13 I think you will find that helpful. A person should know if they are saved. I can't imagine what its like for you to go around thinking if your saved or not. I have many scriptures to help you with if you wanna go futher on that topic.
