Greta was an old, grandmotherly type. She was well-known for her faith and love of talking about it. She would go out on the front porch and say, "Praise the Lord!" Her next door neighbor would shout back, "There ain't no Lord!"

Greta was very poor, so the neighbor decided to prove his point by buying a large bag of groceries and placing it at her door.

The next morning, she went to the porch and on seeing the groceries, shouted, "Praise the Lord!"

The neighbor stepped out from behind a tree and said, "I brought those groceries, and there ain't no Lord."

Greta smiled and replied, "Lord, you not only sent me food but you made the devil pay for it."

Is it the same way they justify the murder of millions of innocent, rational people because they wouldn't join their cult or accept the stupidity and insanity of belief?

I am directly refering to so-called "christianity".

Could this explian why they are so insidious?

Maybe its just me. Im sick, Im on edge, and I have been awfully short with my replies today, just not in the mood. But dont you wish people would pick up a book, and read it before asking or answering stupid questions. "Our country was built on science not religion" What? Pick up a history book! Independence day, before or after the movie? Huh?

i thought about it and read over my answers and it was wrong to kinda bash someone elses beliefs..i believe in the Lord and i had time to think about it and i do apoligize..they are not my beliefs but it is definatly something Jesus would not have done..so I am sorry.

I'm confused with this big time, it was a show on the discovery channel, 'tomb raiders' and they talked about someone named james 'the brother of jesus' Could someone please explain this to me, because Jesus was obviously gods only son, that was one of the major points of sacrificing him for all of our sins.---BTW i'm not jewish.

Who here thinks we should elevate Jim_Darwins status to well, a god. I mean he is kind, he seems benevolent, he listens to and answers all our questions to him religiously, he doesn’t seem vengeful, he puts up with a lot of poop and yet continues… all in all a pretty great deity. Let’s see no smiting, no floods, no plagues…Hmmm I am game anyone else?

If someone is drowning and I could save them with a thought and I just watch them drown, is it ok because I didn't push them in the water? If God is in control of EVERYTHING how can there be ANYTHING that God is not held accountable for. If I put a gun to someone's head and pull the trigger God could jam the gun if he wanted to because he can do ANYTHING right? So if the gun fires and they die, how does God escape all responsiblity for it?

Can a president say "I didn't make the people poor. I just allowed them to starve to death while money to feed them sat in the treasury" and we just go "OK that makes sense."?

I mean if you pray for something that IS God's will, it's going to happen anyway regardless of whether you pray for it or not. If you pray for something that is NOT God's will, it's NOT going to happen regardless of whether you pray for it or not. So, EITHER WAY there appears to be no reason to pray for something. It's either going to happen according to His will or it won't happen according to his will. Your praying will have ZERO effect on God's will. Is there some flaw to this argument?

He really, really wants me to believe in him. He wanted to give me a sign, he said, “Your loyalty and devotion to your Atheistic cause is admiral, I could use some of that devotion for myself. Because I want you to believe I will change gas prices back to $1.20 a gallon and then you will believe” I can’t talk about what else happened but I am waiting on the miracle of the gas pump…. waiting…. who do I see about this?
