some of you have told myself and my fellow atheist that the only reason we are atheist is because we don't want to be held accountable for our actions.

what actions are you refering to?

and why do you feel you like you know us well enough to make this assumption?

Mr. Huntjames 32,
I am an avid Christian. If some of my New Christan brethren have told you that I most humbly apologize. I personally know some atheist and agnostics who are really good and careing people. Some new Christan's who don't study the Word throw any one not believing in God as evil. That is wrong. They assume because you don't believe that you can do as you will and not be held accountable in your mind so go and do whatever wrong or right you want. That again is wrong. There are many Believers throughout history who were murders, thieves and committed atrocities. Hey, look at the inquisition the church did. Again, I humbly apologize. Jesus did not come into this world for the saved believers, He came to give a chance for the unsaved and unbelievers. We should be trying to show and live example in front of and for you.
In love
Char Donn

Hey, I'm Christian, and I could care less what you and your fellow atheists believe or do. I think everyone should live how he or she sees best to live, and I have no right to judge you or to make any assumptions about you. Nor do you have the right to judge or make general assumptions about all Christians. There are hundreds of different churches called "Christian" after all, many with very different beliefs. Let's leave the religious bickering aside and all just get along!

Sins are the actions referred to. The average Christian sins at least seven times a day. We are flawed humans. Aethists deny a fundamental truth that they were born knowing. Why would they deny this? There are many reasons, but the important thing is life on this earth is short and we don't want you to go to hell for an eternity. Life on earth is like on drip of water in an ocean.

Do you really want to spend the rest of eternity in a torture you could never imagine?

I don't fall into the camp of the perspective your referring to. I realize people are Atheists for lots of different reasons. Many Atheists I know are humanists and are very active in doing positive things for their community. I respect why they have the beliefs they do, I just disagree.

Christianity does nothing more than provide a pattern for living a decent life, with the added advantage of achieving heaven if we follow the rules. If you can lead a decent life, i.e., not hurting anyone else, and you are comfortable without the concept of eternal life in another form, then I say more power to you. It's certainly no skin off my nose.

Isn't the definition of an atheist; a person that does not believe in the existence of an almighty god or gods? Why should you care what christians think? Our opinions are probably based on a God that you don't believe in anyway. So what's the problem?

Basic Christian Theology: We are all sinners, unless we accept Jesus we will burn. They think since you refuse to accept this you do not wish to be held accountable. Luther (a real psycho) said the best works of the most righteous were mortal sins.

Do not take it personally just shake your head and grin.

I see your point. People have generalized. Some atheists feel that way and some are atheists for other reasons.

It means that atheists aren't willing to realise they are sinners or to apologise or to want to be forgiven. Unfortunatly you have chosen this path so there is no salvation for you my friend, the only thing I can recommend is to stop clamping your hands over your ears and say sorry. If not, damnation is your only destination. Have a nice life!

I'm agnostic, but I'm guessing that those who said things to that effect are just putting up a front of grandure. They believe it is their duty to judge that way because it was written in a book that has been translated hundreds of times and origionally written by quite possibly not a reliable source.
