NONE

If you dont bring any of the existing religions, the people I bring will miss having something to believe in, and they will create new and unpredictable religions. I dont know what is worse - predictable or non-predictable religions. Probably having only one religion will solve the problem with preaching and trying to save others. I think if I should choose this one I'd bring - It'd be Buddhism. It is really an atheistic belief, but they have an honest and nice way of treating others.

Every single one of them. Each religion's fundamentals are the same - to teach good values to people with the basis that God watches your moves in the Universe, and sees all. Granted that some religions are a bit militaristic in following their doctrines and some are liberal on the same point, it doesn't mean that religion should be a matter of selection when colonizing a new planet.

None. Religion is what got this planet into trouble to begin with. In the Garden of Eden, Satan had a conversation with Eve about God, and he brought religion into the midst of it. Eve got confused and ate of the forbidden tree. then Adam decided that he knew what was best and deliberately disobeyed God. Since then, the world has been in a mess with one religion after another coming along and trying to improve upon Adam's sin. Only Jesus Christ has been able to offer humankind a proper relationship with God because he is God. Religion is legalism, a system of do's and don't's that must be adhered to in order to be saved. It is doing things your own way---salvation by works---and this does not work. A fresh start on a new planet does not need the same old garbage that got us into trouble at the beginning of our existence. It needs the forever freshness of Jesus Christ, that person of God that never fades, never fails and never goes out of style. Jesus loves us all and wants us to be free in the love of God, not bound up in the sin of religious dogma.

I wouldn't establish any religions but I would do my best to provide education on as many of the different religions as possible so the people in the colony can make their own choices about their spirituality.

I would not bring any religions. In fact I would ban religions for the first generation or two. Eventually people will begin to create a new religion based on their beliefs and we will have a brand new religion and who knows, it might just be the one perfect religion where everyone lives in peace and harmony with one another.

One... the one-man-worship-me-cult all about... ME!

Lol... actually I would ban religion. It would give the colonists a lot less to fight about. I would think the fighting would begin in flight as some religions still don't believe the other planets are real..

Has anyone watched the Star Trek TNG episode on the other day dealing with this subject?? I think Jean Luc would agree with me...

One mine.

The reality of space is that we have the ability to harvest from the worlds we cannot inhabit enough resources to create (a planet each) a world for every religion and country currently on earth on the ones we can.

STOP the madness!

By divine design we must spread out.

None of course, because for many people religions are a convenient way to give away their very own responsibility for society. If all things in life were in fact controlled by a higher entity, it wouldn't make sense to care about anything. Therefore people put a lot of effort in worshipping or praying to their god, because they believe this is the only way to improve their lives. Wasted time. Life is not fair for sure, but you can definitely make it better rather by taking responsibility than by praying. A very important step in the evolution of mankind is to realize that our fate does not rest in the hands of god. We all are responsible for ourselves and for our fellow people. It's very hard to do that, but it's worth it. This world is what we make of it. It's all on us.

I would not be using religion as a value in my selection.

I would pick the people with best brains and the most motivated will to be apart of my initial team.

Inspiration and integration would be key to success - people either have it or don't.

Although religion does not reward inspiration or integration - it usually defeats inspiration and integration.
