This is not a religious question and I just want to know how did people make the word god and how did they make god a super powoer?

Some people believe that religion was created by rich people so that poor people wouldnt get angry enough to rob rich people of their belongings.

Materialism?
Hypocrisy?
Political Corruption?
Bigotry?
Separation of Church/State?
Accepting Homosexuals?
Being a Pro-Choicer?
Being a Phelps?

I'm not saying I think all of these are sin, but they are the commonly argued topics in the spotlight. Which do you think is the worst? Which would Jesus fight against most vigorously?

Who are the American Pharisees?
IE (if your not Bible-knowledgeable)- Who are the self-righteous know-it-alls that Jesus would despise and call the 'bad fruits' of society?

To give you a better picture, Pharisees are:
unforgiving
hypocritical
self-righteous
know-it-alls
judgemental

Who, in modern America, best fits this description?
What would Jesus do about them?

Apathy towards the belief in religion and anything that relates to a supreme being is considered by some monotonous and boring. Is it because the apathetic individual is stereotyped or is it because the indifference offends you?

Does God 'hate' or 'love'?
Or is that not a sign of imperfection?
Does God hate the sin, love the sinner, or does the sin have a purpose for the betterment of humanity? Do we not need sin to realize what is bad for society?

Is sin God-given or defiantly created by "Satan" in the absence of God?

There were no Protestants before the 16th Century. We now have 40,000 Churches. Before the Protestant Reformation there was ONLY 2 Churches: Catholic and Orthodox. Protestants have existed for 500 years, Catholic/Orthodox for 1,500 years. Everyone used to be Catholic and Orthodox. God's will was to have ONE Church. Protestants beliefs are about Protesting the Catholic Church. God loves all Christians but he has only One true Church. It is visible and not made up of every denomination.

Can a non-catholic be a godparent to a catholic child? I am not catholic but my husband is, and we agreed to raise our children catholic. I am wanting to know as far as godparents go can we have a noncatholic godparent as long as the other one is catholic??
