Who are the American Pharisees?
IE (if your not Bible-knowledgeable)- Who are the self-righteous know-it-alls that Jesus would despise and call the 'bad fruits' of society?

To give you a better picture, Pharisees are:
unforgiving
hypocritical
self-righteous
know-it-alls
judgemental

Who, in modern America, best fits this description?
What would Jesus do about them?

WWJD? Just because it is modern America probably wouldn't change anything.
Luke 4:16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

You would still find him going to synagogue on Sabbath -- so he would probably never cross paths with the modern Christians.

Please, don't insult modern religious Jews who are all descendants of the Pharisees by misusing the title as you have done.

Oh, you mean the Rush Limbaughs, Ann Coulters, Jerry Falwells & Fred Phelps of modern America.

Well, first Jesus would come to Humboldt County & smoke a doobie with Woody Harrelson.

Then he'd head south & sit in a tree & pray with Joan Baez & Julia Butterfly Hill, and make media appearances with Darryl Hannah.

Afterwards, he'd head over to Crawford, Texas to erect more crosses for Cindy Crawford, oops, I mean Sheehan, to protest the war.

He might walk on air over to Washington, D.C., to ask Bush WTF he thinks he's doing, and remind him that he flunked Sunday school & has no scholarly nor religious basis for his inane war. But first he would appear on CNN in a debate with Pat Robertson to denounce hate speech in the name of Christ.

Once he arrived at the White House, he could run the risk of getting detained indefinitely by Homeland Security for being a long-haired hippie terrorist.

Then the CIA would ply him with drugs & WMD to prove that he's the real Jesus.

Then Diebold would rig the elections again, and Bu$h would win, and Jesus would remain at Gitmo until he died of starvation from no wine or bread.

Sounds like you are describing half the people on this website.

To answer your question, alot of people in the federal government, i.e. the President would fit this description.

What would Jesus do? I couldn't even try and answer this....

That certainly is not a humble christion. But thank God that He is patient and waits in a
kind way for man to repent. If He wasn't where would we all be.
