There is a customer that comes in every day to bs w/ us workers. He tends to be overly sexual in his language and when he talks that way to me I feel very offended. None of the other girls seem to mind but I think it is very disrespectful. They say "Oh that's just the way he is, he is harmless." My boss seems to feel the same way. What do I do? I do not want him to stop talking to me cause he is hillarius otherwise and seems nice. I just have respect for myself and think he should too.

Very authentic source... I heard they are killed just because their parents are poor and they can't afford the expenses of the girl's marriage (when she grows up, of course), knowing that these illiterate tradition-oriented parents do not allow girls to work. Male babies, on the other hand, are considered a blessing since males are allowed to work and therefore bring fortune. This is happening!!! Everyday!!

Me and my friends are thinking about going to see a live showing of the Rocky Horror Picture show, but heard that first timers (virgins) are forced to go onstage and do stuff. We are unsure if we wanna go for fear out of what they might make us do. So if you could tell me what they have to do that would be great. How theoretically possible would it be for, say, a girl or woman with HIV and a wobbly tooth/bleeding gums to infect a boyfriend with a mouth ulcer, simply by kissing? Any real, true-to-facts data on something like this? -- What about a person with hepatitis C biting a cookie, dropping & losing it, and a child picking it up off the sidewalk or carpet the next morning, eating it and getting infected (--- since they say that hepatitis C stays alive for 24 hours outside the body)? Yeah, I know its a wild scenario, but if those sorts of "contacts" happened, how much real danger if any would exist, and if it were indeed miniscule, who would ever bother themselves to care? I used to drink after siblings, even friends, as a child -- of course, I wouldn't allow backwash & wiped the top, afterwards; yet, you know that a lot of this stuff has been around unspoken about for years, and I don't trade sips on drinks & still refuse to eat off of a used fork. Ever think about it? Modern life.

The more I travel around the world, the more dismayed I am about the swift disappearance of anyone who has the knowledge and skill to make traditional handicrafts, the things that forty years ago were still commonplace. Back then, when you were in a foreign country, and bought a "souvenier", it was something typical of the region, and locally made. It was a real souvenier, because it was local.

Now all we get is CFC (Crap From China). Just recently, I was in Dubai. I saw these two amazing horse sculptures, like toy rocking horses. Unfortunately, nothing like that was actually for sale; everything was CFC.

Is there any organization that promotes these vanishing arts? It seems that, unless you are talking about phenomenally expensive art, no one making traditional handicrafts. No one is working with wood, or weaving baskets, making original pottery, etc.

It would be a shame if the skills required to make these traditional handicrafts were lost. How can this be supported

i was out on saturday night at a nightclub in town and got into a fight with my boyfriends ex girlfriend. It was just outside the club and before i knew it police were involved and split us up. I was then handcuffed behind my back very tight by a female officer and put me in the police car.

on the way to the station i asked if she would loosen my cuffs a bit because they were digging into my wrist, so the officer in the back seat with me checked the cuffs and loosened them a bit, but they were still way too tight!

it wasnt until i got to the station the cuffs were taken off and i looked at my wrists which were red marked nd really sore, so the nurse checked them for any bone breaks etc, but luckily i was ok!

i showed my wrists to the officer who arrested me and she said.. she had them tight because my hand was thin and she didnt want me slipping out of them!

anyway, i didnt think i should have been handcuffed at all!

what do u think of this?!!

I have a project for my economics class. I am supposed to argue that americans should buy american against people arguing that we shouldn't. We've been at our current apartment nearly a year (lease renews in Jan. 2008). We received a note on our door today that if we want to renew, our rent is going to be $xxx amount. They're trying to raise it by $74 per month...that's a 10% increase. Does this seem wrong/exhorbitant to anyone else?? I'm going to call tomorrow and talk with them about it. (A new owner of the apartment complex took over during the summer, and I think they're responsbile for this.) They claim to be beautifying the property, but so far all I've noticed is that they're re-roofing some of the buildings (not ours) and we have new light fixtures in the breezeways. (Cost maybe $5.00, if that.) We've had two major water leaks in our apartment (not our fault...they came from upstairs) and, as with most apartment complexes, the "repair" work was shoddy. Anyone have any advice as to what to tell them to try to haggle our rent increase to a more reasonable level, or is this even possible?

hi.. i was given an after school detention last week for 2 hours where i had to write lines. ' I must follow the school code of conduct at all times' Im from the UK and our detentions at school are from 3.30 til 5.30.

not only are writing pages of lines boring, but your hand and fingers are sore from holding the pen! i used a biro pen, which made my fingers numb, i dunno if a different pen will help?

I have another 2 hr detention on thursday, so any ideas?
