i was out on saturday night at a nightclub in town and got into a fight with my boyfriends ex girlfriend. It was just outside the club and before i knew it police were involved and split us up. I was then handcuffed behind my back very tight by a female officer and put me in the police car.

on the way to the station i asked if she would loosen my cuffs a bit because they were digging into my wrist, so the officer in the back seat with me checked the cuffs and loosened them a bit, but they were still way too tight!

it wasnt until i got to the station the cuffs were taken off and i looked at my wrists which were red marked nd really sore, so the nurse checked them for any bone breaks etc, but luckily i was ok!

i showed my wrists to the officer who arrested me and she said.. she had them tight because my hand was thin and she didnt want me slipping out of them!

anyway, i didnt think i should have been handcuffed at all!

what do u think of this?!!

xx

I am in the police academy right now and was thinking about the answer before I even got to the end of your question...the officer was right about the slipping thing...we are taught to make the cuffs really tight on women for a safety issue for the officers...most women have naturally thin wrists and are able to slip out of the handcuffs...Sorry that it happened to you, but you must understand that officer safety must come first in any situation...

Too many Police Officers have been injured because they decided not to handcuff an arrested person. If you don't like being handcuffed then behave!

It is procedure that when someone is arrested and taken in for booking that they are handcuffed. You were treated no differently than anyone else.

cuz they are sick of arresting idiots who damage the regulation...cuz they are basically doing their pastime to envision the criminal they arrested is lower than administration...want i bypass on... "why in the international do officials cuff 'women' so tight..."? ...as antagonistic to cuffing men large tight because they deserve that because they are adult men and also you dont because you're a woman...? fool provide up being so backwards, provide up being so sexist, improve up, end getting arrested and also you'll not in any respect could fret about your little wrists getting raw from cuffs back

it stinks that they hurt but if you had never gotten in the confrontation in the first place there would've been absolutely no need for the hand cuffs.
