Background:

Some people ------ which includes a minority but very loud group of 'true' heterosexuals and some 'gay' identified males, and some women ------ make the claim that most men are heterosexuals and react aggressively when shown evidence to the contrary.

The minority of males who are 'true' exclusive heterosexuals claim that since they haven't gone through any pressure to be exclusively heterosexual, no one does. And so they claim that being exclusive heterosexual is the majority....... and thus 'straight'.

They claim, people are what they say they are.

How reasonable is this claim, when:

1. The society exerts such extreme pressures on men to be exclusively heterosexual,

2. The consequences of not being (exclusively) heterosexual is so negative and extreme for men,

3. The real men, the majority of straights are disempowered to claim their same-sex needs.

I'm only defining heterosexuality as a constant, and exclusive sexual need for women.

The vast majority of the huge Baby Boomer generation are now in their 50's & 60's. In the next 20 yrs they will represent a huge Seniors population requiring vast amounts of Health Care and other economic support structures. Not to mention there is simply not a younger population group to balance off this buldge.

Will the US and Canada be able to shoulder this tremedous economic and social shift.

I live in a condo that directly faces another condo not too far. I have blinds from one end of the wall to the other in the living room where the huge glass windows are. Lately I've been pulling up the blinds during the daylight for the sun and just cuz its much sunnier and brighter in my home. But now there's a privacy issue. 2 of the guys in the other condo sometimes look directly into my flat and wave or woo at me especially when I stand in the balcony. Whenever I stand in my kitchen, cooking or doing something, I feel like they are staring at me and I don't feel comfortable in my own home. I don't really want to live in a dark house where all the blinds are closed. Any suggestions?

If Mexicans are supposedly Mestizo then why do they look more Native American than my Native American friends? I have both Mexican and Native American friends and most of my Native American friends look more mixed than my Mexican friends. My Mexican friends look fully Native American.

I was just wondering why when it comes to a white person talking about a black person it seems like we have to touch the subject so carefully, like we're walking through glass barefoot. Then when a Black Person talks about a white person it seems like a no holds barred, fight to the death, let the insults begin. Am I wrong for feeling that it is like this?

I was just sittin here thinking to myself, what it were Whites had been enslaved? What if their families were made to be split apart? If they were told their name isn't going to be this it's going to be this? If they were boiled alive, if they were beaten with whips that made deep lacerations, if their women were raped consistently, if their men dehumanized and stripped of their masculinity? If their limbs cut off, if they couldn't gain access to books? If they picked cotton, tended to our children, stole their music, killed for looking at our women, killed for being on the wrong side of the sidewalk, stopped because you're not supposed to be in a particular town or car. Made fun of for years, centuries really? Pitted against one another for divisive purposes, having to fight for everything that is rightfully yours? Would you want us to forget that?

For me:
Favs:
1. Texas: the friendliest people I've ever met, very clean, great weather (mostly), diversity in geography, abounding arts opportunities, the MOST beautiful women, NOT a redneck state like so many make it out to be.
2. Oklahoma: almost everybody I've ever met from OK have been very nice like Texans. OKC is an up and coming metro area. A beautiful state, also.
3. Georgia: ATL is boomin' and hoppin'. Great city, beautiful neighborhoods, friendly local natives, the North Ga. mountains are awe-inspiring, incredibly good lookin' women.

Least favs:
1. Florida: run-down, crime-ridden, dirty, and, away from the coasts, it's pretty boring. The NY/NJ/PA/OH yankee transplants are quite grouchy, too.
2. Kentucky: Redneck culture reigns supreme, very little in arts and culture, very rude/uninviting natives (especially Louisville and East KY) with bad attitudes, most of women are ugly, very littered, boring.
3. Virginia: The halfbacks and boring NOVA...'nuff said.

I thought there were supposed to be flying cars and deep space travel but instead the world gets HD-DVD and MP3 players. :-( Do you think we'll ever see the "typical" future-like items in our lifetimes? Like flying cars or things like that?

No offense intended, but I have really noticed that with all my years browsing forums and sites.

I'm sure there's a lot of Americans there who are good at it, but I have been asking this question myself for so long already (since High school maybe?). Do the Westerners just really don't take their spelling lessons seriously? Is it a trend? Does it matter anyway?

For me, the weekends seem limited to the amount of work I can get done. I'll be the first to admit I am a workaholic, and I truly love my work. But weekends so many things are closed and it's frustrating that I have to wait until Monday.

So do you dread weekends? Why or why not?

First of all, let me say this…. Yes, I am an undercover drug enforcement officer, but I am a FIRM believer in less government, when possible. I don’t like having to answer to anyone any more than you do. I believe that it is just human nature to dislike authority of any kind because we want to think that we are in control of our lives, and can do a fine job without some “government authority” that don’t even know us personally. Unfortunately, you have these nutjobs who take it upon themselves to play God and kill as many people they can pop off before the heat closes in on them.

Here is my suggestion. Im not saying it is right. I am open minded. I hope that YOU are too when reading it. I think we can both agree that SOMETHING has to be done… before we start getting lunatics who try to break the “record of number of people killed”

I suggest Mandatory Firearm Insurance! Your gun should be treated no differently than your car, which HAS to be registered and insured.
