I have considered the fact that I am a minor, and that if i runaway i can get into trouble but where I am living is not working for me. This isn't the right place for me to be living, I know theres something out there in the world for everyone and I am going to go find my thing. How much money should i save up, how much clothes should i take? My girlfriend is also coming along. We are leaving here to be together and to find out what we are going to do. I am an American working in an American "business" in Germany. I have the opportunity here to hear and see other perspectives of us Americans. I have the opportunity to hear "news programs" from other countries. You just wouldn't believe how different their perspectives are. (And no, I don't believe every word I hear.)

My point is this.... Many countries have a view of us from the actions of the well-known people in our country such as politicians and celebrities.

I wonder if "they" have any clue as to who the people of the U.S.A. really are. We're just regular ordinary people, just like the regular ordinary people of their respective countries.

So while talking to a German the other day...after listening to his perspective of the American "people"...I had the opportunity to express to him that not everyone is corrupt, promiscuous, pro-war, etc. etc.

What would you tell a person from another country, about the "real" people of the U.S.A.?

For cashiers and those who have worked (or work) in retail, has this ever happened?

First in this situation lets get rid of all technicalities and possibilities and just assume its a generic customer with no kind of germophobia or any complication otherwise.

Okay, so you ring the customer up as usual, you outstretch your hand for the customer to hand the money to you and instead the customer, seeing your hand and having the money ready and all otherwise, decides to just place it on the counter (or throws/flings it). You complete the transaction and the customer has the nerve to expect you to hand it to him/her and if you mirror the customer's actions (or don't hand it to him/her in other words), he/she throws a fit. Has that ever happened to you?

Retail/former retail workers/cashiers answer only please.

Hi,
I am 21 years old, i was born a male, but i feel i was suppose to be born a woman. Every since i was in the third grade...i began to secretly adopt the usual appearel of girls my age...as i felt more comfortable as Jessica instead of Justin. By the time I reached my senior year in high school...i'd developed a completly feminine persona...i became interested in men, and had practically no male behaviors. Now i'm not sure if i am passable, but there have been a few people to tell me i'm too pretty to be a guy. So i am asking for your oppinions...should i deprive myself of a dream i've had for a long tome now...or should i have sexual reasignment surgery?
I'll appreciate all thoughts thank you.

What can people do demolish poverty in the world.. I actually admire american idol, for doing that american idol gives back.. they are emphaszing that there is poverty in america, and poverty in the rest of the world.. They are telling people, that they CAN make a diffrence.. People! MAKE A DIFFRENCE, 10 dollars can go along way in africa... tell me, what can we ALL do to eliminate poverty..... so alot of people are probley watching american idle right now. American has this donate thing on but what for? Africans have been in this situation for decades and decades, if not centuries.. All this time people have donated billion upon billions but Africa is not moving forward. Is it all scams?
All this donations and very little improvements.. I dont understand. AND they are making the problem worse by popping out multiple children knowing they have AIDS.. Leave it to them to fix if they won't accept that they have a problem.. It's so screwed up...

I beleive a lot of the television/radio programs and articles on many magazines should be more productive. Most of them are for adults only , I have no problem with them, but I strongly beleive they should be broadcasted on certain hours. Music today is a piece of garbage. All of these actors/singers etc. should realize that they play a major role on the development of children.
