Hi,
I am 21 years old, i was born a male, but i feel i was suppose to be born a woman. Every since i was in the third grade...i began to secretly adopt the usual appearel of girls my age...as i felt more comfortable as Jessica instead of Justin. By the time I reached my senior year in high school...i'd developed a completly feminine persona...i became interested in men, and had practically no male behaviors. Now i'm not sure if i am passable, but there have been a few people to tell me i'm too pretty to be a guy. So i am asking for your oppinions...should i deprive myself of a dream i've had for a long tome now...or should i have sexual reasignment surgery?
I'll appreciate all thoughts thank you.

Such a radical move requires a LOT of thought and determination. I would suggest you to wait for a while longer, JUST in case you might change your mind.
Once you decide for something this big, there's no turning back. Also, there are different degrees of transformation. You don't want to get rid of your you-know-what. Imagine - no sex, ever again. Even if you get the female bits done, they won't feel anything.

Be very careful with your decisions.

Well the first step they do is to make you live for a year dressing as the gender of your choice. It is a gradual process they don't just do it overnight so yes you can start the process and then exit the process in the early stages if you decide that is not what you want.

Try learning to accept yourself as a human being who doesn't require the validation and approval of society based on what gender you appear to be without resorting to such drastic and irreversible surgery.

Talk to a therapist who is a member of the Harry Benjamin Foundation first to make sure. Even if you think you know in your head, you'll need their assessment anyway.

You really want someone HERE to tell you what to do? Find a psychiatrist who deals with this subject and let him or her advise you.
