I beleive a lot of the television/radio programs and articles on many magazines should be more productive. Most of them are for adults only , I have no problem with them, but I strongly beleive they should be broadcasted on certain hours. Music today is a piece of garbage. All of these actors/singers etc. should realize that they play a major role on the development of children.

I agree, it is mearly impossible to find a productive program now days. Most programs are for marketing purposes only, they're only trying to sell themselves; not educate. But unfortunately people live blinded by the opposite tought.
We seriously need to put our part , begin to turn that idiot box and tune in into more programs that are actually make us feel that we learned something and helped us....

The media will only affect youths if there is bad parenting. If there is good parenting kids will know what is real and what is fake. They will also be able to tell right from wrong. Good parents will take certain steps to make sure the media does not affect their kids. They won't let their kids have computers with internet access in their rooms or have cable tv in their rooms. They will also make sure they have parental control on their cable and internet. Thats just a good starting point

Did you know that families are spending more time watching tv than having family discussions?

Did you know that the tv is becoming the new parent in our homes?

People believe what they see on tv and therefore become more and more insecure, trying to be what they see on television.

Tv causes people to not use their own creativity and actually does desensitive us to violence and if there was no tv, there would be 10,000 less murders and hundreds of thousands of less rapes.

Now, watching tv is not bad but as a society we are watching it way too much instead of going outside to experience nature.

Poor kids growing up these days, not only girls but the boys.

Girls grow up seeing - the p*ssy cat dolls (see, even the names so bad, yahoo had to * it out heh) But seriously, COME ON. a bunch of women who (and i'm putting this nicely) look like a bunch of strippers (Not that there's anything wrong with being one, just our kids dont need to see it) But this is what they watch on tv, people having s*x on tv, just with (some) of their clothes on

Young girls often haven't grown into their bodies, so might be a bit chubby - and they have all the pressure to dress and look like these people on tv.

Music on tv is absolute garbage yeah! It's disgusting.

to a point you are right.

but media is generally used as an all-purpose scapegoat, which is getting old.

if you don't like the role models that exist, be a better one yourself.
