To find charity that does what you want and puts your money to good use go to
http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm
You can search for your criteria and they provide information, rating and links for donations.

The best thing you could do....is learn the truth about....what American and European colonization did to African countries.

The mining practices greatly accelerated the desertization of sub-Sahara Africa by NOT implementing conservation techniques.

The theft of their natural resources (oil, iron, diamonds, etc.) made zillions of dollars for European countries and America...but left the African countryside in shambles and poverty-stricken.

Many African countries only received their independence within the last 40-50 years.
Without control of their natural resources, they've had to heavily borrow from the same countries they stole their natual wealth.

The International Monetary Fund's high interest rate makes it nearly impossible for many countries to feed their people.....because instead of raising food largely for consumption....they export a lot to make money to pay off their loans...quite a vicious circle.

Why not help the people in your own country.
