WITHOUT PREJUDICE

It bothers me to think that our kids can no longer play tag in the playground but instead are allowed to sit around reading magazines and playing PSPs, it also upsets me that if my child falls over and needs a friendly hug from the teacher she may not get one... has the country gone crazy? Are we too scared? I don't want my child to grow up to be scared to say what they think and feel for fear of upsetting someone... I want my child to grow up to feel safe and happy.... does anyone see what I'm getting at? How do you all feel? Who sets these rules of society?

I think there are so many moral messages we could educate our children with, if Ren & Stimpy were a daily subject.

What do you think?

I work with a bunch of teenagers and it seems like most of them only have the vaguest idea of history - even from just the last 100 years. For example, tonight we were talking about Stalin, Russia, and the cold war, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and they basically were giving me a blank stare. I mentioned the McCarthy hearings and the best I could get was "I've heard of that" but no idea what it was about or the context.

I've gotten responses like this to a number of different of different topics. It makes me wonder if schools are basically glossing over these events in history class or if I was the exception in actually finding these things interesting and learning about them. Maybe I just think it's important because I actually grew up in the last half of the cold war and so it has meaning to my life.

I am a thirty year old man. I love my parents very much. My father is a strictly conservative, Pentecostal preacher. And my mother has had several nervous breakdowns. So I don't want to be to blame for my mother having another. I'm afraid she will flip again if I tell her. I have lived this lie around them for several years. I have done this so I can have a relationship with my parents. I don't want to lose that. I simply feel they deserve to know the truth. I want to be an honorable and honest man and I can't say that about myself with this looming over my head. I just don't know what to do. Is there anyone out there that can help me. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you

all i can say is time is running out and the childern of the future are in desprate need of learning self respect. respect for others, proper manners , and or values.... this is a searious thing as i look around. the childern of today learn how to live the street way. instead of the right way. today nobody has trust in one another and thats very bad. my charity acts as a youth facility where everybody helps each other. people helping people.kind of a skills trade. you volunteer your time to teach and you get rewarded , but not with money....theres a whole lot more to this, and it creates this circle and will help so many people in the future. i've asked some of my friends what they think of all this idea i have and they can't believe how good it sounds. so please somebody direct me in the right direction.
