Why do the Europeans (speciafically British) say Americans are old fashioned?
I've read an article in the guardian a British newspaper and the writer said, "Americans are more old-fashioned than us, and they're not ashamed of being old-fashioned." In my opinion the British are much more old-fashioned with a much older more established culture. The British are way more old-fashioned by nature than us Americans. We Americans who are far more into what is going on right this minute the phrase, "that's so yesterday." and are far more of a cyncial people.

First Snickers pulls their ad because gay rights groups complained. Now a suicide prevention group is whining about the robot that kills itself in another commercial. Has everyone just lost their sense of humor? Or will the incessant whining finally cause a long overdue backlash?

Her death, her sons death were both such tragities. There is a beautiful baby girl left with no mother (who's father is still in question), That old guys family gets ALL of the millions they were greedly fighting for and the world is less colorful without her. I feel that this is so sad....does anyone else feel the same way??

Saving money is OK, but not so when money leaves this country and supports another country like CHINA!! Can't you see they DO NOT PLAY FAIR?!! Care not about the future of this country? Keep doing what your doing! Otherwise questiion those rich and powerful people who INSIST that free markets are good for all! Okay, this may sound really, really, really,really,really stupid but what is a BJ. For some reason everybody has been saying it in school.All the people who I asked did not even know what it means(yet they say it like "Im going to BJ your grandfather!" im from new jersey. and things are different up there than down here in south carolina. i moved down here to south carolina 2 months ago. and ever since i moved i have been confused! in the south kids treat you different! when i was in new jersey, you would know that these are your friends! and they would stick by you. down here in south carolina people look at you funny or think you from a nother planet! i try to be nice but everytime i try to talk to someone they ignore me or walk away. it can't be me becasue im new! in new jersey people said hi and got to know you. down here, they look at you like" oh i want to be your freind, or i don't" but won't say it. if you want someone to be your friend they should speak right? its the only way!!!! i feel left out, and outkasted from everyone else. i have anger problems but i cover them up so i can be nice to people and the mean part of me is seeping through!!! lol whats going on is it me?

Story on today that law enforcement in parts of the USA are using a trickier way to catch wanted people who have warrents by sending letters promising $200 if you show up for a seminar at a hotel. When the people , mostly wanted for minor things such as simple possession or driving without drivers licenses or writing bad checks, show up , they are arrested right away by police officers. They say it is easier to arrest hard to find "Criminals" with warrents for these minor things . What do you think ? Is this going to far? why?
