I consider political correctness to be a canker on the skin of civilization. When a society loses its sense of humor, it is on its way out. To the first answerer's question: I am not so humorless about what I believe that I would not allow someone to speak offensively about it. I might change the channel or plug my ears if it is bad enough, but to force someone not to say a disrespectful thing about one topic is to open the door to total censorship and abrogation of the First Amendment to the Constitution (for those of us in the US).

Our society has so much free time but people cannot find happiness, so they lose their sense of humor and start complaining about stuff that is a waste of time.

It's a cultural thing.

It's personal to them, and they've seen it so many times to people that mean it in a ill manner that they think of it as a major insult. Think about what you believe in, and your race, what you love about whatever it is about you, and what you stand for. If suddenly someone made fun of that or trashed it, would you still laugh at it?
