I can say I was not taught history until I got to college. But for those people not fortunate enough to go to college do they even have a clue?

example. I never knew the following paragraph existed until History 101. Why is this not taught in public school:

I don't really. Unless it's a child, then I want to cry. I mean, I understand being "down on your luck" because I've been there for years. But I was able to go into McDonald's while I was about 5 months pregnant, and I still got a job. Now, I have a great job for a cell phone company and have been here for 2 years. If I can do it while being a single mother of 2 kids still in diapers, anyone can do it. Not trying to be mean or anything, but that's just my opinion.

I dont understand it. I had questions which were really not offensive at all removed. I dont know if it was because some of the questions were on the German forum written in English or not? Do they remove questions like this?

Will they close your account as well?

Why is it that some people get SO defensive when you state an opinion? For instance as a college student I have always been taught that open mindedness is the key to knowledge and understanding, why don't people understand this? I get frustrated about certain things involving the United States and I am proud that I had a brother that went and served in the army in Iraq and I lost someone I cared about to the same war, however my brother and his friends and the family of my friend that was lost has even more PRIDE for this country!!!! If I can't express my opinions about illegal immigration and race without being called racist how is that fair? I have to wonder if I wasn't a white female and I expressed these same feelings would I still be a racist?

i was wondering it seems so weird but it is startign to seem like white men want us more than our own black men, crazy huh, but yet a lot of black guys get mad when they see me with my white boyfriend!!!!

im not saying you have to believe in God but if you were the creator would you....? we talked about this for like 15 minutes in religion class (social responsibility in view of catholic faith) and were discussing suffering and the various responses to it ( hopelessness, individualism, enlightened self interest, and compassion) and then somewhere in our text wee touched on free will and thus how the question began. personally if i were god and if god is all knowing (which you dont really know) then i probably wouldnt have given humans free will concerning an objective point of view. think of this way - if you knew there would be racism, inequality, injustice, ignorance, terrorism, genocide, poverty, etc would you have given man free will? however i would not have given such freedom then taken it away and from a human perspective i can say i would die without it! but then again id probably be unaware that it ever existed...thoughts? message me if ya want! peace!

Has anyone really stopped and thought about it? Here in Florida it seems the same panhandlers work the same corner everyday. I mean do they sell Franchises for this because I know if you have a really good corner you can pull in $200 a day. The cynical side of me belives these guys leave their gated communities in their BMW's park behind Walgreens or whatever, roll around in the dirt for a while and then work their corner collecting tax free cash all day. I am not nocking these guys and in fact give them cash fairly regularly, but is it just me being cynical or does anyone else think these guys are a hell of a lot smarter than us? No paperwork, No boss, NO BS at the office, gettting a nice tan, meet interesting people and a nice haul of cash at the end of the day
