Why do Fridays feel different then other afternoons?

It just seems like when I'm at work it feels so much different on a Friday afternoon. I just cant put my finger on why that is. Someone please help me solve this dillema I am having.

The excitement of the weekend and the pay doesn't hurt.

It's because of the atmosphere...Because the friday is usually the end of the work/school week, we're excited for the weekend.
On Mondays it's usually the opposite because our break is over and everyone is feeling low.
