These women served in theatres... they would have a tray with a strap that went round their necks.

I would like to know, first, whether those women, that job, had a specifi name. Then, what decade(s) they belonged to, and where I could find information and pictures of them (I'm trying to create a costume... dressing like these women).

i think mankind ever invented the time machine is that is can only go forward FASTER then we human go by pass each day and year..and thire are no possible to go back in time....just like the movie from hollywood the time machine...he make it and he can only go forward time not againt time.....if anyone have any other please help me out i dotn quite get it

Well, I'm only 17, I'm not selling a house or anything ( Duh. ) But there is this family that moved in my neighborhood and they're black. The houses are really expensive and I was just wondering will that one family bring down the whole neighborhood value? Because I've seen this happen before..Green Island Hills..yeah no one wants to move over there anymore..Why do they have to ruin such good, influential and well mannered neighborhoods?

Edit: I did ask this in the Business section, but I think only black people were answering the question, since the answers were a little race-biased.

Why is it that some people--otherwise attractive, normal people--don't seem to care whatsoever about the current style? They seem to be "released" from fashion, as in, they don't care if what they are wearing is from 12 years ago, and they are quite comfortable that way. If I wore the same thing, I'd feel so self-conscious, I couldn't stop thinking about my clothes all day! I'm not talking about being completely "up-to-the-moment" either, I just mean relatively with the current style. I guess I'm asking because I kind of envy that kind of freedom from the dictates of fashion and I just wonder what mentality these people have?

I dont know why my school allows the janior up into our bathroom. He is mentally challenged because all he does is walk around and make loud laughing outburst. He walks into our public bathrooms sometimes as we are showering and makes loud mmmmmm noises. All of the females are scared to death of him because we do not know what he is capable of doing. He is so disgusting. He spits and blows snotz out of his nose. Is there anyone we can report this to? It wont do anything good to report this to the school beause they are the ones that allow him to come up into our showers in the first place. Please help we are scared to be seen naked.

I was talking over coffee with some friends,and the topic came up about who is really more advantages in life. The consensus of the group seemed to believe the women have vast advantages in life. One of our freinds who has stayed home all her life (no kids) admitted that she'd never be able to pull this off as a man without being harassed and humiliated by others. She was thanking her lucky stars that she was able to avoid the rat race by finding a stable partner early. What do you think of this. Do women really have an easier time??? I'm not so sure about this.

I know the mother, but not really the child. I wish to send a card of sympathy, but unsure of what words to say, exactly.

The child had been ill for sometime, but was not expected to pass away right now. I think the child was in their mid 30's.

Looking for something nice to say - I cant say I understand the pain they must be suffering, as I haven't been through anything like this at all (thank God.)

Is it really men's faults or are women to blame for this double standard? Women are the ones that generally resorts to gossiping about someone rather than men. Men seem to have an easier time separating sex from emotions, while women don't.

Also, another possible theory for this double standard is that women don't have to work hard to get sex from a man. They could just walk into a bar and hook-up in a couple minutes. Men, on the other hand, do. This leads to women being called "easy" while men being considered "cool" for hooking-up with many partners.

I used to teach 6th grade and I was good at my job. When I taught a topic, I taught all sides so the children could decide for themselves. So when I taught evolution, I also taught creationism, and the theory that I personally believe, which is that life started when an alien named Jar Jar Binks, masterbated into the primordial soup, therefore starting life. i'm not talking about 'family friendly-creche-play area' types...I'm talking about proper grown-up Inns/resturaunts.

I'll probably get trashed for this...but I've just been subjected to two hours of two bored, running and yelling three year olds and a babe in arms being repeatedly entertained by a toy that plays the first few bars of old macdonald. The adults were eating, the children were playing with their food and bombing around the tables.
My meal gradually turned to ashes.

I know a friend who has three children and she wouldn't dream of taking them into this kind of environment...It reallly isn't fair on others...

Sorry, maybe I'm just having a rant, but my meal was ruined and I can't be the only one who feels that the presence of babes isn't appropriate.
