Being passive is too mushy...being agressive is being too pushy

How can being passive-aggressive NOT a good thing? I believe there is a time to speak up, and there is a time to shut-up and listen.

Any thoughts on this please?

Cabinet Minister Jack Straw has said that he would prefer women not to wear full veils because they hinder communication.
He told the BBC that he asked Muslim women visiting him in his Blackburn surgery to remove their veils.
I'm a devout Christian, and i grew up in South Africa in much of a multi-cultural society, some of my best friends were moslem, i would have felt and today still would be most unhappy if i was wearing a symbol of the cross and asked to remove it cause it "causes segregation"...?

the white people are in a totally different world than us. I only get to interact with them because we are say .. gardeners working at their houses. Young white people do this HANGING out thing where they go with friends to restaurants, concerts, travel.. and they just hang out with white or asians or blacks that are assimilated since birth. Me being a 1st generation american who started with spanish as first language and even still don't feel like i fit in with any assimilated americans, i see them as out of this world. They also see me as out of this world. So how can we ever learn to be friends.
