We've all experienced this strange phenomenon. When we were children a year seemed like an eternity, weeks were long and memorable and summers were a lifetime of sunshine and school-less paradise. But As we get older time seems to speed up. Years pass in what seems like a blink of an eye and summers seem like a race against the clock. Why is this? Is it simply because we have busier lives and our concept of time or "free-time" more specifically has been distorted? Or is it because as we've gotten older our daily routines have become much more consistent and monotous? Does time seem to be going faster because at we aren't discovering the world anymore? Is time passing by because our lives are becoming more consistent day-to-day and we simply don't experience enough memorable moments anymore that would give us better persective of time going by? i.e. If you did 7 memorable things everyday over a week would we have better scope of how long a week actually was?

In November 2005, George W. Bush urged Congress to pass $7.1 billion in emergency funding to prepare for the possible bird flu pandemic, of which one billion is solely dedicated to the purchase, and distribution of Tamiflu.

It so happens that Donald Rumsfeld is the Chairman of Gilead, the pharmaceutical company who makes Tamiflu. Makes me seriously wonder if all that birdflu hype was just that - and meanwhile, Donald's networth, just from owning this stock that became so desirable, just rose astronomically. Coincidence? A different sort of insider trading? I'll rub your back if you rub mine? Goes to show what can be done when you have friends in high places. Maybe birds got sick from the crap in the chemtrails....

Isn't it worth a good think?

My collegue and i are at our wits end with this bloke who works in our office. Its just the three of us plus our boss. He is so far up the bosses' as@ that its sickening. The boss is on holiday this week and we thought we could let our hair down a bit - put the radio on, have a giggle, leave 1/2 hour early one day etc. He is carrying on like he is the boss now - saying he dosent think its appropriate and we should carry on as if he were here. Jesus - what a Tw@t. We all work really hard anyway - whats his problem - Any advice?? We are considering supergluing his @ss to the bosses chair - but he may object??

There is this guy who when he died wanted to go with all the accolades that a hero gets. The problem is he really doesn't like to do much besides travel to exotic places and get high. Now recently there has been a "tragic" accident in the celebrity world that we have all been reading and feeling about that has given this guy an Idea. He thinks that if he can get the sponsors, he too could have a TV show where he could win the hearts of nations. He wants to call the show "LICKING THE EXOTIC TOAD". Now as the title suggest, what he would do is travel the world and lick exotic toads and frogs; You know in some places they do that, however the places where they do, they know which ones to lick. His idea is that if he can get in 75 episodes of licking before he slurped the "BIG" one he will have won the hearts and admiration of nations and die a hero as well.

Would He??

Have you ever heard the first part of this sentence followed by a non-sexist comment? If there's nothing sexist about a statement, why the need to deny it before you've even said what you think?

I've come to find that a lot of people i meet from puerto rico and other latin american countries (except Brazil of coarse) seem to take pride in their european heritage but never take notice of their african heritage. I was just wondering are they taught about the slave trade in those countries and the african influence around them (food, music, etc) or is it a taboo. is considering yourself africana instead of hispanic frowned upon in those countries or not as "cool".
