I am absolutely for equality - ie don't judge someones capabilities by their sex (or race, religion, age for that matter).
Each individual has strengths and weaknesses. The best person for each job should do it regardless of what convenient pigeon hole you might be tempted to put them in.
On the other hand, don't lets pretend that everyone is the same, because we are not. Variety is the spice of life (and bland is bad).
I don't agree with attempts to "promote women in the workforce" because that just seems to encourage discrimination in the other direction...

If a man or woman are doing the same job and have equal skills then they should both be paid the same amount of money for it, during the war a lot of women had to do the jobs that men normally did simply because the country would have come to a stand still without them, I suppose the more men or women that learn the jobs that aren't meant for either the better, we need skills in this country so everyone should have the chance to try regardless of their sex.

Yes, I think there should be sexual equality. We should stop thinking about whether someone is a man or a woman and focus completely on what kind of work each individual is capable of doing and how skilled each individual is. I think people should be paid according to how well they do their job and not according to their gender.
I see nothing wrong with women doing "typical man jobs" or men doing "typical women jobs" as long as they are able to do their job well and if they can do the job as well as the other gender they deserve to be paid the same.

Society is resolute to divide itself for some reason- racism, sexism, all the isms possible have been made. It is some innate desire of superiority, men feel better than women, whites better than blacks, English better than Irish, Catholics better than Protestants. It is confusing, but most of human behaviour is, in't it? The only thing which isn't bizarre in human behaviour is anythingg which is classed as *normal*, i.e. habit or the forever lingering argument of orthodoxy being better than novelty. Alot of the really archaic ideas of sexism come for the favourite of all high- class bigots, organised religion- which is basically a document of how people acted 2000 years ago which is, very oddly, still applied to modern life. I mean no-one ever cited caveman's drwaings in the Bible, so why do we quote the Biible today? At leat the characters in the Bible displayed some of the signs of evolution, what've we got?
So, what I am trying to say is that the rules of Eve being created for Adam are bull so we should not be applying them to the workplace.

Competence is what matters.
Although, there are jobs that women should not be allowed to do. Women should not be allowed to work in a menswear store, because there are male customers who go into the change room and undress. And I have found that women can not cut my hair properly. I end up with a girly bob cut and look like a page boy.
Other than those two professions, women can do anything and should be paid the same as men.

I think that women should be allowed to do the same jobs as men, but only if they are willing and able to perform them to the same specification or standard. For instance, women join the Army but don't fight on the front line and they are given a time advantage in fitness training which in my opinion is wrong.

As long as you are competant at the job you do then i say yes to sexual equality, i however think there are many manual forms of labour that a man can definitely do better than a woman as they are stronger, xx

Total sexual equality
Although some people, especially women, consider themselves equal to the opposite sex, there some things-jobs which they believe are only for men/women.
I oppose that.
What is your job?

Women only want equality when it works to their advantage.
When it comes to buying drinks or unblocking drains orfixing a car it's always "what kind of man are you? I'm a woman!"

I think most importantly, we need to change our idealistic ways of thinking. Where is this rule book that says "Men do these jobs...and women do these jobs"? People should be able to choose their occupation according to what will be most fulfilling, not according to social rules.
Just out of interest, may I ask what your job is?
