I've been reading a lot about this. How the Superdrome was plagued with roaving rape-gangs after dark and families being split up but why for goodness sake did it take the Federal government so long to react? Was it a race thing ? N'awlins being the persuasion it is ? As a European I don't understand this.

It concerns the UK postal system :

I live on a nice narrowboat, sometimes cruising the UK Inland Waterways system, sometimes remaining static for a while in nice places. So ...
I have a land based postal address in the form of my Mother, who forwards stuff to the nearest village P.O. But the system can be most unreliable. It could also take weeks to set up and use.
It could be scanned in & sent to my laptop I know, but without resorting to a mail helicopter drop here and there, is there a better system about that you can please advise me of ?

I am ayoung person and I don't see whart is wrong with holding the door open for someone or just being generally a polite person. I saw a kid in the street yesterday shouting and swearing at an old person, so I went over and told him to leave her alone and he tried to punch me! A policeman interveaned but because he was only 12 they aren't goiung to do anything about it. Am I being really old fashioned or does any body else think that thisa country is falling to peices?

surely that makes a bigger statement? Anyhows College starts in 4 days and that's an end to such stuff. [I never missed a single day in the first year [Not one] and I *never* went in with a hang-over]. D ya kno, I think I'm just to hard on myself- I'd *never* be that hard on another person. Maybe we just need to give ourselves a break. ...... I live in a medium sized town in a rural county and the population of town is becoming demographically more affluent with an influx of more military related jobs. There has always been a sizable homeless population living in the woods between the park and a shopping center. The homeless had set up tents and had all they owned out there. Recently the town cleaned out the woods of all the homeless peoples belongings. They did nothing for the homeless people except move their tents, mattresses and any personal belongings they had to the town dump. I don't think it's fair to treat them this way, but I don't have anything I can personally do to help them. What do you think?
