In terms of relationships, is love enough to make a relationship strong...or something else?

Is it just me, or does anyone else just want to pack a bag and go and live somewehre where there are no people around.
If they can sort out the living on the moon thing, i'd be at the front of the queue.
People are monstrous sometimes, disregarding all others in pursuit of money.
I think I was born in the worng century, anyone else feel this way or is evreyone brainwashed by the bits of paper we have to have to be happy?
I work with sick people all day and all I wish for is that they would acknowledge me. I don't do it for money or gratitude but a glimmer of human kindness would light up my day.
I think that all emotion and romance has dissapeared from the world and all we are going to be left with is belongings and sadness
I'm not depressed or anything...its just hard to be cheerful when you see the world from the moon....

So many of you on your profile page have the option of being contacted. In numerous cases you even say contact me, but you havent verified your email address with Yahoo. Im trying to be friendly , but get with the program if you want to be interactive. I've wasted alot of time writting to an individual only to find out they are out of the loop. Theres good stuff to learn from each other, get smart and back your answers up with what you say on your profile page.

I have had two ghostly experiences in my life. When my grandfather died, I got up in the night and saw him sitting in his favorite chair and when my father died(his death was traumatic and he was lost in the woods for a week and when found his body was very decayed), his grandson who was his reason for living, suddenly got a horrible smell in his bedroom like something dead and nobody could find the source of the smell. They even had the wall torn down looking for dead animals. They never did find or get rid of the smell and finally had to sell the house and move and the new owners did not have the problem and never had the odor. Tell me your ghostly encounters...no jokes please..serious only.

I keep hearing this worn out expression of "It's about heritage, not hate" when it comes to love of the confederate flag.

Given that the heritage of the south at least partially represented by the flag is one of slavery and oppression and one of the reasons for the civil war was the intense desire to keep that way of life going (and it wasn't all "gone with the wind"y - it was vicious and cruel) - can anyone, using critical thinking skills, explain to me how the heritage is NOT hate (or some form of it, like racism)?

Note: I only use Iraq as an example.

I would like to travel the world, as would many people. I want to visit places in Europe and get out of America. I want to visit Middle Eastern states and see what the culture is like, only I worry I won't be accepted over there because I am a "western infidel".
I'm not going to say that when Middle Easterners come over here they are any more safe (They are no longer targeted by the people, it is the U.S. government thinking they are terrorists they aren't safe from), but they can live here without being targeted by the people for being Middle Eastern. If I was to go to Iraq and try to move about in the country, let's just say, I wouldn't make it very long.
Why are we not accepted, or invited, to come and enjoy the people and the culture of the Middle East?

Please don't post any one-sided, negative answers. This is a serious question and it deserves a serious answer.

I mean people like Shakira or even Charro. People that have working in the united stated for many years now and although they speak english they speak it with a heavy accent. Is it possible for them to one day speak without it, not saying that they should, I'm just curious. Maybe they speak with such a heavy accent because they don't use english in everyday life?

I have worked for my company for a while but this is a new building/location for me. I've noticed that the housekeeping guy who gathers our trash every day refers to the men using Mr. and their last name. "Is Mr. Smith in today?" When he refers to the women in the offices he uses first names. "Is Jennifer in today?"

The housekeeping guy is very nice and personable but I wouldn't want to ask him because he might think I am offended and feel badly. I'm really outright curious about it. I think it's different.

These people are all in his general age group so age doesn't seem to be an explanation. At least one woman and man are in the same level/type of job together so I don't think position explains it. All of the people in the office are Caucasian with one exception of someone who is Middle Eastern (but not sure which country).

The housekeeper is Black but I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Any ideas?

I have a friend who was born in the Chech Republic. We've tried to enter some U.S. resteraunts to eat, but we leave since we see signs that say "No Checks Allowed." What do these resteraunts have against people born in the Chech Republic? I think it's discrimination! Has anyone filed a class action lawsuit against resteraunts that post these signs?
