Well when I think of LOVE the picture I paint in my mind is a strong man with the image of the world on his shoulders but still have arms long enough and strong enough to wrap around his family.

I don't see infidelity - Infidelity represents LUST.

On the same sidewalk, a young couple groping all over each other to represent lust, and an old couple holding hands or helping each other to represent love.

I think lust is part of love, but the two can and do live apart, too.

I would paint one side of the portrait with warm colors like red, orange, and yellow, to symbolize lust. Then I'd put to shady figures kissing/having sex just for pleasure.
Then ,on the other half, I'd paint it cool colors, like blue, with a little hint of white, with shady figures just holding each other and gazing into each others eyes, lovingly, to symbolize love.

If I had any talent in painting...that'd be one bad-butt portrait...

I see it differently. I love my Lady but I also feel lust for her...so in my mind I see a picture of us making love and looking deep into each others eyes...feeling as one and treasuring every second of our time together...me touching her face and kissing passionately...I don't have time for lusting after someone I don't deeply love...neither does she...I guess that's just the way we are.

this is an awesome question.
(and your picture is kinda sad, but hey, that's reality.)

i think my picture would be something like this- there's a bullet coming at the woman. The man in front of her, blocking the bullet is love. The man firing the gun is lust.

*tear*

That is beautiful.

I think I would probably paint a sunset(love) over a lake with the reflection(lust) all rippled and distorted.

That's a really sad idea. It's beautiful. If I could paint, i would paint it. I can't come up with anything to rival it.
